Arsène Wenger has revealed the latest team news ahead of the Southampton game on Tuesday night:
    on the team news…
The team news is that we have all the players that played on Saturday available again. The only problem we have is that we lost Rosicky through injury. We have to assess one or two. Overall the situation looks quite good for everybody else.

    on Tomas Rosicky
He has a thigh problem - a muscular tendon problem, but we don’t know how bad it is. It happened three or four minutes after he came on and we have to assess him today. He’s not available for a while. We will know much more tonight.

    on Jack Wilshere
He is looking good. I had a short chat with Roy Hodgson about him and reassured him that he is progressing well. I’m cautious but I will say four weeks [until he is back].

    on Danny Welbeck
Danny has not played since April 2015 and will have to go through a game or two with the under-21s, where we can monitor him and leave him free to play at his level of commitment. That looks to be very soon, maybe this week.

Good chance to put right the humiliation at St Mary's on boxing day.

Good to have coq and Sanchez back, as well as rosicky for the bench.

This will help loads but the whole team will need to step up hugely

The fact that they now have a clinical finisher in Austin concerns me greatly, especially with the manner in how we've been defending of late. That being said, we have Sanchez and Coquelin back; two huge boosts for our team. We haven't won the past 3 league games, so we need to February off with a win because there are going to be a lot of tough tests for this team. We have no excuses to not win this game.

I'd have Campbell on the right over Walcott, Walcott's form has been poor as of late.

I agree with that team, but nice to know we will have players like theo, rosicky, elneny, merts ect on the bench if needed.

Anyone know if gibbs was injured in the end?

Not if he's not scoring like that 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper against Burnley, or that performance he put in vs Chelski, :D.

True that was very poor, but i still think its better to have an out an out striker on the bench than say artrta pr oxo, particularly obe with pace.

If Rosicky is back properly fit, then we should consider a Coqs and Rosicky partnership. We've been at our best with Coqs and Caz, who is great at keeping the ball and distributing it. As good as Ramsey is, he's been losing the ball and his positional sense has been poor. Rosicky is very good at keeping possession, making passes, keeping the game flowing and helps with defending. It's a shame that Rosicky is at the twilight of his career, but if he's still good to go, i would try him and Coqs together.

If the rumours are true and he's injured for two months then unfortunately I don't think we'll see him in an Arsenal shirt again. It's such a shame that another talented footballer's career has been ****ed up by injuries

Wilshere is still 4 weeks away according to Wenger. He's another Rosicky-Diaby, the guy has already had so many long term injuries, missed a big chunk of last season, and hasnt played a single game yet this season, and won't be back until March. It's time I think to stop hoping he will eventually turn a corner, it's just a fact of life, Wilshere is another one of those injury prone players.

Is Coquelin definitely fit for you lot now? Bugger if so.

Can only really see home win in this, you lot are desperate for it after 3 without in the league and I'm sure you'll want revenge for the boxing day massacre ;)

We did a great job of keeping Ozil out of the game that night but when Alexis back in now makes that task much more difficult.

Do you think Gabriel will play over Merts? I'm hoping for Merts tbh as Long terrified him last time <laugh>

Good luck for rest of season after this game, would rather see you lot win it than City again <ok>

I said the same thing in the Rosicky thread. The majority don't want to entertain the fact that Wilshere is Darren Anderton v2, but he's another sick note that is clear to see. I do feel for him and unless he learns to adapt as a footballer, so as to lessens his injuries, he won't last long. I'd give him early next season to prove his worth and if he gets injured again, ship him off in the 2017 Jan window. He's occupying a first team spot that another player like Isco can take.

Coquelin is back, apparently he was available for the Chelsea game but Wenger didn't want to throw him in at the deep end. With Sanchez and Ozil in the team we have great attacking options, keeping one of them quiet is a feat, keeping them both quiet is much harder. I think Wenger will probably go with Mert but as I SAID ON ANOTHER THREAD if we have coquelin back then the CBs should get better shielding from midfield and Mert won't be so exposed.

Fair points, just how 'match fit' is Coq though? if we can start high energy with Mane & Long up top and lots of energy in midfield then even if he is only say 10% off then it could work in our favour, same as Gabriel? He hasn't played a lot recently has he?

Probably clutching at straws though tbh still expect you to beat us <laugh>
