Rumours ahead of this match that Rice won't be available for this one. We shouldn't need him to secure 3 points anyway, but it would really be helpful if Arteta starts utilising the wider squad more.
I have been calling for Arteta to use the wider squad more, but didn't think he'd do it today lol. Surprising to see Rice, Partey, Martinelli and Havertz all on the bench. I suppose we have plenty of options if things don't go to plan, though...
1-0! Saka! What a lovely goal that is, lovely interplay and one touch movement on the edge of the box between him, Timber and Odegaard, Saka rides a few challenges and smashes home a powerful shot into the top corner. Selz had no chance. Deserved lead. We've started this game very well.
Some superb interplay between Odegaard, Calafiori and Trossard, the former then finding space in the box and is unlucky with the cutback to Saka. Good football on display.
Jorginho booked for bringing down Elanga when he was in transition. This was my worry. Every time Forest look to counter us and hit us in transition, we don't have the legs in midfield to cover enough ground. Merino, Jorginho and Odegaard is a very technical midfield, but there's not much power, athleticism or speed.
Some more neat, one-touch football. We're playing with real fluidity and purpose. Jesus was off balance when he tried to place the shot and it just goes wide. Unlucky. But we need to get the 2nd to take the sting out the game.
This ref is taking the piss. He books Jesus for a late challenge when he's about to take a shot and doesn't see the Forest player nick the ball off his foot. It was an accidental trod. Then he's given a free kick to Forest when Jorginho won the ball, but because the Forest player went down screaming his lungs out, he gives a foul. **** off Hooper.
HT. 1-0. Some great football and wonderful combinations. I only have two frustrations. 1) Hooper has been a bit too card happy, and has been giving our players yellow cards for minor infringements. It's nauseating and disrupting the flow of the game. 2) We haven't been clinical enough in front of goal. We've created a lot but not putting enough of them away. We need to get the 2nd soon otherwise Forest will grow into the match.
2-0. Partey. Really good strike and should hopefully take some sting out the game. Finally, a shot from outside the box goes in.
Not a fan of us sitting off in the last 7-8 minutes. Keep the pressure on and don't give them a sniff back into the game.
Good counterpressing to win the ball near the edge of their box. Really awful attempt from Merino, though. Needs to do better.
Zinchenko on for Calafiori. Not too sure about that one. Don't think we're home and hosed just yet to be making that sort of sub.
Had to go out around the 80th minute so I missed the final 10. FT. 3-0. Just what the doctor ordered. I was a bit fearful of this game because Forest have had some big results this season, and have started very well, but from minute 1 to the end we were excellent. Dominant, fluid and some special football on display. In an attacking sense, probably our best performance since Leicester at home. Nwaneri...won't be long before this kid forces his way into the team. He's so unbelievably good. Hopefully we see more of this from Arsenal moving forward.
Brilliant to see Odegaard and Saka linking up again. Thought Jorginho did really well yesterday too Shout to Nwaneri and Partey and just an all round good performance from everybody More of the same please
