    TEAM NEWS

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has no new injury concerns in his squad ahead of the clash with Manchester City.

Abou Diaby and Francis Coquelin are nearing full fitness, but will not be ready for first-team action for another couple of weeks.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is expected to be fit after missing the last two games with a foot injury.

Joleon Lescott is also back after a hip complaint, while Samir Nasri returns against his former club.

    MATCH PREVIEW

Where has Manchester City's air of easy invincibility gone? There was a time, not really so very long ago, that City simply had to put on their boots, take to the field and wait for their opposition to succumb to tide after tide of unrelenting pressure.

The goalscoring statistics were remarkable: 23 goals in their first six away games, a goal difference of +35 by the first weekend in December. At times, Manchester United looked old fashioned in comparison to Roberto Mancini's brave blue world.

City found themselves in a position from where they knew they ought to win the title, and that's when the doubts started to appear. Manchester City may not be inferior to Manchester United on the pitch, but it seems as though they feel inferior in their heads.

A seven-point swing in United's favour over just four games illustrates how United have turned a mental advantage into a points advantage, helped by some remarkably ill-advised forays into mind games from Manchester City's Football Development Executive Patrick Vieira. Every time Vieira threw out some amateurish verbal bouncer, the old pro at whom they were aimed simply drooled and lifted his trusty bat to smash them back over the boundary ropes.

And now stumbling City head to the Emirates where the normally civilised locals are just waiting to revel in the discomfort of Gael Clichy and particularly Samir Nasri.

How Arsenal would love to undermine the club who seem intent on dismantling the best bits of the Gunners side to rebuild it in east Manchester. Arsene Wenger's team will also have the added incentive of knowing exactly what they require to keep their noses ahead of Tottenham, Chelsea and Newcastle in the four-way scrap for two Champions League places.

If Arsenal do win this one then the Manchester derby at the end of April could be no more than a coronation of the usual kings. City's task is to prevent United from winning a 20th title, which could be their most enjoyable yet.
