I'm not looking forward to this game.

With no Odegaard, Timber as possibly Saka ? I think we'll struggle

Also what's the latest on Calafiori

No Saliba, no Odegaard, possibly no Saka and Timber...this is basically the spine of our team that's potentially not going to be playing/not match sharp against the league leaders. Gonna be an uphill struggle.

I'm hearing Calafiori's injury won't be as bad as was first feared, however, it's still going to keep him out for between 3-5 weeks, which isn't ideal.

Worst possible time for a game against a high-flying Liverpool.

Yeah not good. Basically having to field a 2nd string team

    Would take a draw now.

you have had 2 seasons with barely any injuries to your vital players so it was bound to happen sooner or later

I guess Thomas Partey is one that has been in and out of the team with persistent niggling injuries, but yep overall we've been lucky with our key players.

And then bam, all of them are out at the same time.

Anyway, we have to just get on with it. But it's not a great time to be facing your lot.

One thing that the Arsenal critics arn't mentioning is that on paper at least we will have had 3 of the hardest fixtures out the way by October.

If you were to ask me the toughest 4 fixtures for us at the moment I would say:

    City Away
    Liverpool Away
    Villa Away
    Spurs Away

Saka and Timber were spotted at the team hotel yesterday with the team. Which implies they will be with the match day squad.

I'm not sure how fit they're going to be, but even if they do start, how match sharp will they be? They haven't played for weeks.

Still very hesitant going into this one.

I reckon we will have more missing than you despite all the fuss from your end

Maybe, but there's still a sizeable gap between our first team and the rest of our squad players. Meaning in games of this magnitude we can't really rely on squad players to fill in because the quality and skillset is too fast. Should that be the case with Arteta almost 5 years into this job? No, but it's where we're at right now.

I can see Saka and Timber are both starting, but Partey at RB and Trossard in the 10...don't like that at all for us.

I'm happy to see Timber and Saka in the side (even if there are question marks over their fitness), but Partey at RB...I really don't get this. Has this ever worked for us? Have we ever won a game with Partey starting at RB? We will miss his ball-carrying and vertical passing in the middle.

Merino and Rice pivot, for me, is too slow and not dynamic enough.

How Trossard gets a start after how shambolic he's been for most of the season is truly something. Has he ever had a good game in the 10? Not happy with this.

This is a missed opportunity for Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri to play. Especially after what we saw Barcelona do at The Bernabeu yesterday with a team half comprised of 17, 18 and 19 year olds.

Overall, I think this is a very unbalanced team and Liverpool are favourites IMO.

We will just need to hope for the best...

I hate Partey at RB - I dont know how many times I have to say this.

    I would have gone..

    White Timber Gabriel Kiwior
    Partey Rice Trossard
    Saka Havertz Martinelli

Shame about Gabriel, hope it's not a bad injury.

Trossard has disappeared - worth bringing on Nwaneri?

When we are in the lead we have a habit of being wasteful. Havertz and Martinelli half hearted shots on goal.

We had chances at 2-1 to get 3 but there was no conviction. We need to be much more cutthroat

That should have been a goal. Was never a foul - Kiwior just jumped higher.

    Right, so it finishes 2-2.

Good performance, but not a good result for us IMO. If we'd beaten Brighton and Bournemouth, a draw would have been acceptable (albeit not ideal), but the dropped points in those games meant we needed to find a way to win tonight and we just couldn't do it. We were the better team, but didn't put our chances away and, unfortunately, the injuries to Gabriel and Timber were always going to be costly with so many minutes of the match still to play.

Partey was surprisingly good at RB. He was one of our best players today. Great shift considering he was out of position.

Trossard played well first half and was OK second half. It was much improved from his recent displays.

Saka was magnificent for most of the game, however, you could tell he's not played for a while because he lost some momentum a bit just before he got subbed.

Havertz...I'm sorry but you have to finish those chances. If we had a dynamic, prolific forward, we win that game in the first half and second half becomes a formality.

Martinelli - was a huge threat in behind and started off so well. Again though, final ball and finishing is so subpar. I'm starting to lose my patience with him. I think we need to start looking at upgrading that left-wing/forward position.

The injuries are really starting to worry me. Gabriel could be out for a while and that's not what we need with the fixtures we've got coming up.

The fact we ended the game with a defence that consists of two midfielders, a player who hasn't played CB for 2 years and a 4th choice CB...not encouraging. Times like this where Tomiyasu really is needed, but can never be relied on.

Overall, a disappointing result (but not performance) for me. Just have to keep plugging away and hope we can get wins against Newcastle and Chelsea. Going to be a very tall order, but still lots of football to be played.

Also, how this wasn't a penalty was farcical beyond belief.

Konate doesn't get the ball and totally wipes Martinelli out. Trent kicks his thigh. You can take your pick. It's a clear foul and VAR bottled it yet again.

Even away from this game, there’s been a whole bunch of crap decisions across the board for yet another weekend and PGMOL will do nothing to address the root causes. It’s infuriating

We should have had a pen and a legit goal was disallowed. Classic.
