Full-backs Hector Bellerin (calf) and Nacho Monreal (hamstring) could also feature as Rob Holding (knee), Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin), Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Danny Welbeck (both ankle) miss out. Alfie Mawson is set to miss the trip to the Emirates. The defender suffered what manager Ranieri fears could prove a "serious" knee injury in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Huddersfield. Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa could yet return from an ankle injury, while Ranieri could consider dropping Aboubakar Kamara for a disciplinary matter.
Good to see we are back on track. Looking decent soo far if not still a bit vulnerable. Still its an improvement.
4-1. FT. Not as comfortable as the scoreline suggests, but we are still the worthy winners nonetheless. The only real downside is the goal we conceded. Torreira was quite blatantly fouled in the build up to it and then 8 seconds later, they pull one back. However, Kolasinac's lack of defensive awareness is concerning because he should have seen Kamara making that late run. He got an assist and played a vital part in the 3rd goal, which shows his value when we attack. But he won't get away with poor defensive displays when we play the likes of Chelsea etc. Aubameyang worked tirelessly and got a goal he deserved, even though he missed 3 very good chances in the match. Xhaka probably should have got a brace. Was our worst player in the first half despite scoring, but was much better second half. Torreira made a real difference when he came on, which is always good. Guendouzi's role in this team is still a bit confusing. I'm not sure what he was supposed to be today. He wasn't disciplined defensively and he doesn't contribute a lot in attack either. His ball retention and passing was solid, but he didn't offer much else. Our centre-halves, generally speaking, dealt with Mitrovic pretty well. Didn't get too many touches. Although Sokratis gave some cheap fouls away as he was getting too tight to Mitrovic when they were competing for the ball. Maitland-Niles had a very good game I thought. Was a threat going forward and was good defensively, too. Sessegnon switched flanks in the second half, but he barely had a sniff. Overall, a good win and glad to repair some of the GD damage after the Liverpool game. Onto Blackpool away in the FA Cup.
Glad Torreira had somewhat of a rest. He's looked tired and out of sorts in our last two games. Must be hard for Guendouzi though. One minute he's the DM the next he's being asked to play the more creative role. Personally think he is best the deepest player. (a position Torreira currently occupies) At 19 years old I think he's a very exciting player. Aubameyang was unfairly critiqued for his performance aainst Liverpool IMO - the guy had no service at all. If he gets chances he will score goals and he showed that again today.
