Would have been a tougher game had you not been able to play a weakened team mid week and Brighton hadn't played on Thursday.
Think they'll run out of steam around 70 mins in tbh.

Brighton always give us a tough game though and even though they played Thursday, they dominated that game against Marsellie.

So stop trying to jinx it you jinxy mofo

Is it me or does Havertz react late to everything?

Just got back home from my travels last night.

Saw highlights of the game this morning.

That's genuinely a fantastic performance against a very tricky team. I know they have injuries and played on Thursday, but Brighton have been a proper bogey side for us in the last 4/5 years. We're the first team to stop Brighton scoring this season and in that first half, they had zero attempts. Shows how well we marshalled their attack and stifled them. We were totally in control. Declan Rice eats up so much space and is a cheat code in games like this. Sweeps up everything and redistributes the ball so well to sustain attacks from deep.

My only frustration is that we should have won this by 3 or 4 goals easily. 2-0 doesn't emphasise our dominance enough. We are still very profligate in front of goal. Martinelli, Odegaard, Havertz (prior to his goal) and Saka all should have scored. To be fair, I thought Lewis Dunk was unreal and was blocking shots off the line, putting his body everywhere etc. If it wasn't for him and Verbruggen, it could have been ugly for Brighton. Aside from that Gross chance they had, they didn't test Raya at all.

Top performance and result. We needed that after the Villa game and the fact we play Liverpool away this weekend.

Let's see what we do <ok>.
