Why the hell do we keep getting injuries to our defenders?!

I'm not as bothered about this from a midfield perspective, but still not ideal in the slightest, as our 3 right-back options appear to be unavailable for this one. I wonder who is going to play right-back for this game if Timber and Partey can't make it.

If we can win this game we could go 3rd in the table.

    Raya
    Tierney
    Kiwior
    Saliba
    Lewis-Skelly
    Rice
    Merino
    Sterling
    Odegaard
    Saka
    Trossard

However, I bet he puts Rice in defence, Jorginho in midfield and Havertz up top.

Gabriel Jesus had a good chance and that was a tame effort. The angle was slightly unfavourable, but still. Needs to do a bit better there IMO.

Merino finds himself in a good space in the opposition box and he just whacks it with too much power and goes beyond Jesus. Good build-up.

Kiwior plays a superb pass into Jesus, he's through one-on-one and he hits straight at the Monaco goalkeeper's foot <laugh> If I don't laugh, I'll cry. He is a shocking, shocking footballer.

He's just had another chance where he's in on goal and he's missed again! This is truly unbelievable!

****ing get this guy gone in January. We must be insane to keep this guy around, he's terrible.

    1-0! Saka!

Lewis-Skelly, you are a special talent. He inverts and is under pressure from the Monaco striker, he rides the challenge and shows nimble feet, then plays a lovely vertical pass into Jesus. Jesus plays it across goal for Saka to tap home. Jesus gets the assist, but that was all Lewis-Skelly.

Now Martinelli screws up another chance, when he should score. These attackers aren't serious. How the hell is this only 1-0?

Odegaard has just missed another 1v1 <laugh>. He had so much time as well.

We're playing so well and we're only 1-0 up, what the actual **** are we doing in front of goal tonight???

    HT. 1-0.

I just don't know what to say about that half. Monaco started well, but we controlled the game, bypassed their press and have created an abundance of chances. FOUR clear cut opportunities missed is absolutely criminal. The good news is, we are creating plenty from open play. The bad news is, we cannot finish for ****.

Seriously, there needs to be some uncomfortable conversations about these attackers (outside of Saka). We should be 4-0 up.

Also, Martinelli was very lucky to not get sent off at the end of the half. He was already on a yellow and then commits a stupid foul, that could easily have been a yellow, and the referee gives him a warning. His discipline in the last two games has been a disgrace. I get he's going through a very tough time right now, but petulance is inexcusable.

Good opportunity at the start of the second half. Jesus has to square it and he plays it behind. He really has been terrible in the opposition box tonight.

Kiwior gives away a silly foul. Monaco take the set piece and Kehrer heads just wide. Raya rooted to the spot. That should have been a consolation goal if it went in, but because we've missed so many chances, it would have been significant. Lucky escape.

Monaco have gained confidence based on their start to this second half. We should have killed this off in the first half because they clearly believe they can get something from this. It'd be all our own doing if we don't win this.

Monaco have gotten in behind again. We shouldn't be on the backfoot. We need to get a second soon.
