Arsenal v Watford. So, the last game of the season takes place on Sunday and there are a lot of different combinations of results that could lead to Watford's survival or demise. Have a read of this to get the full lowdown - https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...-aston-villa-watford-bournemouth-championship Basically, if Villa win, then Watford need to better their result by two or more goals to stay up. If Villa draw, any Watford win would ensure their safety. If Villa lose, a Watford draw would be enough. Bournemouth, who play Everton away, may also have a say in who goes down. The bottom of the table doesn't make good reading. Watford's destiny is not in their own hands. please log in to view this image For the pessimists, who think the script is already written, then this will be Watford's last game in the Premiership after a five year stint. Some of the highs and lows can be viewed here - https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/18605404.timeline-watfords-five-years-premier-league/ For the optimists, this could be a dramatic last day relegation escape on the final day of a very turbulent season. During which, we all know what has unfortunately gone wrong. Team news is stil somewhat premature. However, Capoue will be given a late fitness test. The Hornet's temporary coach, Mullins, will hope that Arteta's team selecetion has one eye on the Gunner's forthcoming F.A. Cup final. I guess it is one of those games and time of the season when you pray for the best but prepare for the worst. It is going to be a nervous watch. ¡¡COYH COYH COYH!!
I've used up my 2 free sky sports day passes the club gave me, does anyone have a spare pass code I could use on Sunday?
Just pacing about the kitchen not too sure what do do with myself already. Like Mex says, hoping for the best, preparing for the worst. Please though, show some fight and give it a go because the chance is there and Villa will be nervous too.
Start a 14-hour shift at 10 pm tonight, so need to get some rest before I go in. Normally would go without, and listen to the game, but am so disillusioned with performances, tactics that I shall not bother. The writings been on the wall since the restart, simply not good enough on many levels. Am hoping Villa's game ends in a draw, although I feel West Ham will lift their foot off the gas now they are safe. We then go into stopage time also drawing and win a penalty, deep, deep into stoppage time. Deeney steps up, shows his cojuns and simply does not blast it down the centre, (a keeper is going to stay standing against him really soon) scores and keeps us up. Hope you can enjoy the day everyone, survive the pressure and end up smiling come the end of the day. Wherever you are, we will come back together next season, still supporting our team.
Just had a nice chat with one of my fellow football fans and arranged to have some lunch with him at our favourite restaurant on Tuesday. As a Forest fan he is fed up that they missed out on the playoffs on goal difference. I wonder if goal difference will be the deciding factor for us today?
I have to say I have no confidence they can do it today. I haven’t seen any fight in the team since lockdown really, and barely any quality other than Welbeck’s goal. Even if we sneak a 1-0 I fear that won’t be good enough. I keep thinking back to that run of conceding late goals to Villa, Everton and Brighton. We almost had 9 points but came away with 1 from those three games.
Once we go behind think that will be it .. As we wlll attack and get caught on the break. Really have to try and take the lead.
Found this on Twitter - someone's team selection for today. I must admit I'd only consider one change - Chalobah for Capoue.
Got Sarr, Pereyra , Deeney and Welbeck in the same team so could be attacking? Maybe he says hopefully!
Yes, arguably more attacking, hope it doesn’t leave the midfield too exposed. The Arsenal attack looks menacing too...
I guess coaches are coaches because they know more than I do - which admittedly is not hard - but all that line up does for me is to make me wonder who we'll be facing first up in the Championship.
