With eight straight defeats on the road in the Premier League, Harry Redknapp’s side will be keen to end the year on a high and build on the momentum gained from Saturday’s remarkable comeback victory against West Bromwich Albion at Loftus Road. Charlie Austin’s hat-trick, his first in a QPR shirt, sealed a sensational win at Loftus Road, as the R’s fought back from two goals down to jump out of the bottom three. However, whilst performances and results at Loftus Road have been impressive, the Hoops have struggled on their travels. Manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed that he will be without defender Yun Suk-Young who looks set for a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury. However, the R's boss will have Mauricio Isla at his disposal once more after the Chilean right-back return to England following the birth of his daughter Martina. Arsenal, meanwhile, head into the Boxing Day clash in sixth place following Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Liverpool. Martin Skrtel’s 97th minute equaliser saw Arsenal let more points slip – with 11 now sacrificed from winning positions in the Premier League this season. However, with the attacking options Arsenal have at their disposal, and with fit-again Theo Walcott nearing an imminent return, few would bet against the Gunners improving in the second half of the season and once again occupying a top-four place come the end of the campaign. please log in to view this image Possible Starting Xl's please log in to view this image - - - please log in to view this image Wags please log in to view this image - - - please log in to view this image MATCH OFFICIALS - Referee: Martin Atkinson Assistant Referees: Mike Mullarkey & Peter Kirkup Fourth Official: Phil Dowd BET VICTOR Arsenal win: 1/4 Draw: 5/1 QPR win: 10/1 LAST MEETING - ARSENAL V QPR QPR 0, Arsenal 1 – Premier League – Saturday 4th May 2013 Scorers: Arsenal – Walcott please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Cheers nines! I'm looking forward to a good performance and hope that Harry opts for both Zamora and Austin to lead the attack. We surely can't continue with 4-5-1, it just isn't our best option.
Cheers Eamon, I hope you're having a peaceful day mate. I thought I'd get the thread done as the rest of the family are playing 'Cluedo.' In the end I discovered it was my wife in the kitchen who killed the turkey with the oven.
Me too Soop's. But being the old fool that I am there is still a slight hankering that we might get something out of this one. An away goal?
Always a chance against Arsenal's unpredictable defence but they have so many attacking options I can't see us holding out for the full 90 minutes...
Have to say now nicely fortified after Brunch washed down with a rather pleasant Cremant D'Alsace. Will be heading out later to meet Inky to watch the game in a local watering hole, rather a nice way to spend Boxing Day...... C'mon U R's
Blimey.........3 at the back, although I realise that it will be 5 for most of the game. We will be totally reliant on Traore and Isla to get us forward, as there is zero pace in midfield. Trouble is, our wing backs will be too busy defending!!
