Going for a draw in this one. Arsenal have a better and more settled squad overall imo, but LvG is a canny manager and he will set out to make sure Arsenal's one dimensional bullshit style is nulled. Tactically, between the two managers there is no competition. Going for 2-2 United take lead, Arsenal level, then go 2-1 up through welbeck, for Di Maria to equalise late on. Shame your defense is pony, otherwise you'd piss this game imo. Arsenals forward line is very good
Our pony defence, which has been makeshift and largely populated by youth team players and midfielders recently, has conceded a massive 3 goals more than the mighty Chelsea's. Listening to Phil Thompson and Paul Merson doesn't make you a football expert.
Neither does listening to the anal expulsions you pass off as insight these days. Our defence is nowhere near as tight as last seasons granted, but we are scoring a **** ton more goals and winning games...Not a bad trade off I spose. Really impressed with Southamptons defence so far though. Think they have 8 clean sheets in 11 games so far.
Your comment was about United's pony defence, nothing to do with Chelsea's attack. Our defence has been poor but it's been decimated by injury. Had Chelsea suffered the same injuries at centre half that United have you'd be making all sorts of excuses for them. Everyone who looks at the league table will be impressed with Southampton's defence, even Paul Merson. From your detailed analysis, what do you think is the secret to their success and which of their defenders have you been particularly impressed with?
Not really...if somethings ****, I say it's ****. Your defence is ****. Ours is better, but not great either. I expect LvG will buy in Jan though. Not sure who will be available in Jan though, at least (and I actually mean this, not in a troll way) you don't have to worry about players being cup tied for the CL.
Only watched them twice I think this season, but Fonte has stepped up. Guess we can now see which of the two out of the Fonte/Lovren partnership was being carried. Lovren has been pants this season
Do you think Chelsea would have conceded more goals if Terry, Cahill, Ivanovic and whoever is your next choice centre half had been unavailable for most of the season? Would you also have considered your defence **** if that had been the case or would you have hoped to see the team play with a settled back four before making a decision (this should be your opinion, not something you've read or heard)?
