<peacedove>After seeing off Leipzig in the Champions league, next stop is Arsenal three London clubs in arow, Palace, Chelsea, and Arsenal. We were able to beat Palace and Chelsea.
Arsenal is going to be a real test of our title credentials.
    League Table.
    1.Liverpool 21 points
    4.Arsenal 17 points
By the time we play Arsenal Manchester City can be sitting at the top of the table ,We are currently four points
ahead of Arsenal, and Arsenal are desperate to reduce the gap. They don't want to fall seven points below us.

I wonder which team city fear more?

It's hilarious watching city try to pretend Taylor is not in their pocket and compalin about him reffing them when he goes about constantly favouring city results and stuff.

He might be instructed to make this one a draw I suppose.

Anyway the team news from arsenal will be interesting at the back.

Their back line v shaktar included white (doubtful) saliba (out) and calafiori (out)

Zinchenko is only back so unfit?

They may be missing saka and will be missing odengaard

It will be interesting to see what thry cobble up for us.

    Raya
    White ? gabriel kiwor
    Partey rice
    Jesus havertz martinelli
    Trossard

They will be still a big challenge.

I think we will go full strength again so Diaz and Robertson on the left with gakpo pushing hard for his place.

I think we will beat them, and beat them with one of those almost back to the walls opening 15/20 mins of play, nicking a goal before h-t and then going on to make it plenty hard enough for them to get back in to it come the final whistle.

The fact Arteta has said that they will be fired up for this one (they should be anyway...) tells me he'll have them pressing high, running hard and cant sit back as the home fans will encourage them to attack non-stop. It sort of plays into our hands, but it will be about keeping them out first.

Can't wait, as usual when we play these lot, love a big match up on a Sunday...!!

First time in a while where I don't really know what to expect from a game against Arsenal. I suspect it may end in a draw, which would be a decent result..

I'd expect it to be blood and guts amd all rushing about by arsenal.

I'd expect every cheating. Diving and play acting possible as well. Someone would want to get trent and slap him before the game and say if he kicks a ball away here or gets involved he will get 10 times worse in the dressing room.

I'd be ****ing hilarious if they have another man sent off but I expect the refs to be put to even it up or avoid them

The narrative is they get nothing and we get off light apparently.

Paul Merson said if Arsenal were beaten by Liverpool they are out of the title race. I am not sure he is right, but it will be difficult for them to win the league.

    CHRIS SUTTON'S PREDICTION 0: 1 AWAY WIN

    Emirates Stadium, 16:30 GMT

Liverpool are not helped by having to travel back from RB Leipzig on Wednesday, but Arsenal have bigger problems.

Riccardo Calafiori was excellent against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday but he came off after falling awkwardly. I was at the Emirates, and my hunch from seeing what happened is that he will not be fit for Sunday.

Arsenal already have William Saliba suspended, which is a massive loss, so they will have to reshuffle at the back.

There are rumours that Jurrien Timber could be fit to play at left-back, but if not and they go with Oleksandr Zinchenko against Mohamed Salah, you would fancy Salah to get the better of him.

Liverpool can exploit all of this and then you think about how Arsenal are missing players in an attacking sense.

There’s a lot of talk about whether Bukayo Saka might be fit after missing the past two matches, but Martin Odegaard is still out.

Without them, Arsenal were unconvincing in front of goal against Shakhtar. Gabriel Jesus does so many good things for the team, but you would never back him to finish.

So I am basing this prediction on a combination of what I saw against Shakhtar -because Arsenal were really flat all round - all their injury doubts and Saliba’s absence.

If Saliba was playing, I wouldn’t be predicting a Liverpool win, but if Calafiori and Timber are not fit I don’t feel Arsenal have adequate cover.

This would be a huge win for Liverpool, and everyone is saying that, with the run of tough games they have coming up, we will find out more about them soon.

But they have beaten Chelsea and have enough nous and knowledge in their team to keep their good run going.

I know everyone reading this will go for a 1-1 draw, but I don't like to sit on the fence for big games like this, and neither should you.

    Sutton's prediction: 0-1.

Nemzzz's prediction: I don't like either of these teams. I want to say Arsenal will win but Liverpool are top and playing really well. 2-3.

Sutton's reaction to Nemzzz's prediction: He has had a shocker there. I can sleep well in the knowledge that if I need the points from this game, there will not be five goals at the Emirates.

What an opportunity this is for Liverpool.

They have timed playing one of their toughest fixtures of the season perfectly with Arsenal missing a host of key players. The William Saliba factor is a big one. Since coming into the team two years ago, the Frenchman has only missed 11 Premier League matches but their goals conceded average goes from 0.8 per 90 with him to 1.6 without him.

But I can't back Liverpool at the prices as Arne Slot has already mentioned on Wednesday they'll do everything they can to "get a result" - he didn't say win the game. That implies he'll be taking a draw as a good result - as would Mikel Arteta considering their selection issues. To go seven points behind Liverpool even at this stage if they got beat would be psychologically damaging.

A draw suits both and it's the biggest price of all three outcomes at 12/5 with Sky Bet. That doesn't make sense, so it looks an interesting betting opportunity.

    SCORE PREDICTION: 1-1

What pundits say has no bearing on the game.

    You say this every time
    I sort of disagree

It’s a case of enough people talking a saying things
Eventually the team may listen and whilst it’s still not the pundits the have an effect on the game
A bit of collective believing in their own hype
Like a gk having a player stood in front of him lol

you acknowledge players do it individually (I think)
So why is it not possible that pundits/social media talking about us will have an effect

so whilst what you say is correct technically I do and always have believed it can play its part the way

And that's because you say the same thing every time as well - you always fear the worst and with that I sort of disagree.
If the players let idle chatter from the media convince them they're going to win in a game against Arsenal then they need their heads banging together.
    I just don't see it.

But clearly players do so I don’t know how you can fail to see it
Happens over and over and over
Yep I always fear the worst <laugh>
But this game is one of those where I think there are too many people saying we are going to win

like the Utd games that resulted in draws and losses when really we should have been tearing them apart
    It happens

you also see it in grassroots
No idea how but you win x amount of games - and no matter how you approach it - no matter what you say there is always a game where the kids just don’t turn up

would love to know what causes it
Could make a fortune lol <laugh><laugh><laugh>

I think equally that Arsenal know they cannot afford to lose it, the pressure of that can bring out a terrible mismatched performance that we may be able to take advantage of.

Either way, big game and looking forward to it!

So who are Arsenal likely to be missing?

Saliba and Odegard we know for sure.

    Potentially Saka, Timber, Callifiore?

Merson is a fool. His usual tactic is to scream something to get attention before games as wild as possible and after games nobody picks him up on his crap as we all move on.

    He is a click baiter.

We've seen far bigger points gaps overhauled many times.

It's game week 10 not game week 30.

Arsenal will have played city away and lfc at home plus won their first derby game v spurs so half their big games are done

They can go on a 10 match winning streak very easily after this game.

Look what they actually have available.

    Raya
    White? Not sure
    Kiwor
    Gabriel
    Zinchenko
    Partey
    Rice
    Jesus/sterling
    Havertz
    Martinelli
    Trossard

They have merino back too so can push havertz to cf if they want.

AND saka and timber are not ruled out just yet.

What's his problem? Making out arsenal will implode ffs. Joker.

Mikel Arteta is raising the game by saying that they are going to beat us.What's Paul Merson has been smoking?.I am not sure of his intentions, but Arsenal is going to have a mountain to climb if we beat them on Sunday, though it will not decide the title.

No Jota. Chiesa and Bradley are close to returning according to Slot. Hopefully they can get some game time on Wednesday.
