60,000 capacity. So we get 6,000 tickets. There are more than 6,000 season ticket holders, so some will inevitably miss out, and nobody has a divine right for a ticket to each and every away game. Unless you mean that someone paying for their first season ticket should stand in line behind someone whoi also had one last year. In that instance, we'd never increase season ticket sales. I'm sorry you don't have a ticket for this one, but it's a consequence of the success we've had. We all knew this would happen, we were talking about it last year and through the summer. Personally, I'd rather be missing out on away games at The Emirates than getting a ticket to away games at Peterbrough...
they only Gave us 3018 tickets were sold out by half past 9! Meaning at least 2000 fans would have had to either of been to every away game this year or payed the additional £35 at the start of the season. If prem rules state that 10 % of the capacity has to be offered surely the club could request more tickets?
Season ticket holder for 45+ years and also can't get a ticket so join the queue! The problem is exacerbated by the decision to add an extra charge for season ticket holders to enable them to buy before the general sale. Those of us who felt that was one Flav/Bernie rip-off too far now have no chance of getting tickets to the big games no matter how long we have been loyal to the club. And despite all the fine words from Fernandes and co this particular part of the rip-off legacy has remained. Cheers Tone.
My mate has promised me a ticket in the goon end, but it's not the same. I'm guessing most Who bought are people who don't normally travel away. I go to quite a few away, but I'm not an ST holder so can't really complain too much. As Willy says if it was Peterborough we'd have no problem getting a ticket, but that's progress for you!
For the 48th time, the rule is 3000 or 10%, whichever is lower, hence why we can give just the upper tier when we want.
The system is ****ed in that it crashes on you so can be a lottery if you're in the last bracket fighting for tickets. The actual loyalty point system is fair though. If you go to more aways outside London you ought to have first dibs on the glamour games.
I calculate that in conjunction with my dear old Dad I have spent around £50,000 (in today's money) on season and away tickets since 1965. I went to every home game last year and around 30% of away games. I would like to go to more away games this season but often cannot get tickets because I did not stump up the extra payment. And so I can't build many loyalty points to begin with. Pray tell me how this is a fair loyalty system?
I agree with the loyalty scheme and would have qualified for tickets in the first cut. Sadly my two boys haven't passed 160 yet so I chose to wait. Sadly my loss is somebody else's gain.
It's not a pefect system but it's as fair as it can be. I agree the 30 point add-on thing was needless. Loyalty points should be carried over from previous season like they are at many clubs, but if they're to start from a clean slate this season, season ticket renewals get a head start on everyone else (as they should). Everton and Wigan were our first two away games and neither were close to sell-outs so I think it's right that the people that go to these less glamorous fixtures get to the front of the queue. Being a Rangers fan since 1837 and being a 10th generation fan is admirable but there are loads of different ways to potentially judge loyalty. This way at least it's calculable as those who went away in previous season would normally have bought tickets on the day given supply normally was higher than demand. The only way the club can realistically tell who has been away the most is going by this loyalty system which rewards those who go up north to see us get beaten at Wigan. From next season it ought to be calculated on a rolling system so new fans can't jump the queue but, for now, what else can the club do?
Rang up today and was disappointed though they would give us a larger allocation. Any chance they will increase our allocation? As they have hardly been filling the place up lately, and that is unlikey to change against a newly promoted side.
yeh same dissapointed can't get ticket, hope they can increase our volume if not give them f**k all when they come to HQ
What about the likes of me. I travel to every home game from Dublin at considerable cost. Every home game is effectively an away game. When we play Saturday 5.30 or Monday night, I have to stay over in a hotel = more cost. I spend the cost of the season ticket X 2, flight X2 which typically cost between 120 to 180 euro per game for 2 people + travel cards + food and drink+airport car parking & petrol. I get up at 5 o'clock in the morning and arrive home about 10.30pm or 11.00pm. Thats a typical home game for me and I get zero extra loyalty points. I am sure there are others who travel long distances to home games too and can't get tickets to away games. My financial outlay and loyalty to the club is not recognised when it comes to away tickets. Is the current lotalty points system fair to me? There are other lads who travel over from various parts of Ireland to home and away games on a regular basis at huge cost. Is the current system fair to them? Loyalty should not be rewarded based on the away games you attended but the effort you show to attend all games.
Mate, I appreciate what you're saying but how can the club measure the effort you put in in any other way than the cash you're spending on tickets and trips away? I doubt there's a team in the world that allocates tickets based on the effort you put into getting to games. If I decided to walk on my hands to every home game from Watford does that suddenly make me a better fan? Should those scraping by on crap salaries get preference over others because their commitment is greater in that respect? Any system the club has is going to discriminate against someone but, at the end of the day, those who schlep to the middle of nowhere on a tuesday night are, in my opinion, the most 'loyal' fans but even then you could say that our northern fans then get an easier deal because for them the northern awaydays are simple to get to. The club come out as the bad guys however they implement it and someone always has to lose out. What is wrong is if people have become ST holders for the first time this year, go to Everton and suddenly are top of the list over long-term ST holders, but there is no perfect system.
