    From the ultra reliable Metro...

Jose Enrique has emerged as an Arsenal transfer target, after Everton made it clear they would expect a big fee for Leighton Baines. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is in the market for a new left-back, as the club are likely to sell Gael Clichy in the summer instead of letting him run his contract down.

Wenger had been linked with a £10 million move for England full-back Baines, but Everton manager David Moyes has made it clear he doesn't want to sell.
Asked about speculation regarding Baines, Moyes pointed out the player is on a five-year contract and that 'Everton sell very expensively; that's what we do'.
According to the Daily Mail, the famously frugal Wenger has now turned his attention to Newcastle United's Enrique. The 25-year-old Spaniard has enjoyed a fine season for the Magpies, but is yet to agree an extension to his contract, which expires in the summer of 2012. If Newcastle are unable to persuade him to sign a new deal, Enrique is likely to be available for a bargain fee of around £8 million. However, Arsenal will face competition from Liverpool and Bayern Munich for his signature.

Absolutely no source mind, why do they even bother?

And we'd expect a "big fee" as well, so fack off and kick tires elsewhere Arsene!

I'll demand Gibbs in exchange plus some cash if they want Jose. Gibbs is a future star that's for sure(IMO).

I'd prefer this to Liverpool. Jose's better than Clichy, but if we could get him in part exchange it wouldn't be so bad.

I still like the look of Figueroa though, I think he'd be a quality replacement.
