Arsenal's injury problems are easing as winger Theo Walcott has returned to training, while striker Olivier Giroud is "ahead of schedule" in his recovery.
England international Walcott, 25, ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in Arsenal's 2-0 FA Cup win against Tottenham in January.
Giroud, 28, has not played since August after suffering a broken leg in the 2-2 Premier League draw against Everton.
"Giroud is recovering very well," manager Arsene Wenger told beIN Sports.
The French forward was originally expected to be out until 2015, but the Gunners' boss is hopeful he will be back in action earlier than that.
"The operation went perfectly. I believe he is ahead of schedule in terms of rehabilitation," added Wenger.
German forward Serge Gnabry also returned to training on Monday, having been out since March because of a knee problem.

At last some good news from our injury front and at last someone is coming back ahead of schedule for once! Giroud is making good progress and Walcott is back in training. Gnarbry is also back. So all in all its goooood <ok>

Great to have Theo back, but we need to be patient with him. I do not think he is going to get back to anywhere near his best until next year. This is one tough injury to get over, so hopefully the fans do not place too much pressure on Walcott's shoulders.

I really hope Walcott's injury hasn't affected his pace. Often cruciate ligament damage can really affect a player's ability to run at pace with the ball. Walcott is still relatively young though and if the reconstruction was done well then he shouldn't have any problems. But like Sanj says he's going to take a while to get back his form, he's been out for 10 months.

Also, it will be good to have Giroud back. He gets a lot of stick from fans on here, but I think he's a big asset to the team. Hopefully he will show what we have been missing when he comes back and players like Cazorla, Wilshere, Oxo and Sanchez will benefit from his great link up play.

My 1st thought when seeing tgis article was 'ill believe it when i see it.

I notice Wenger is only really saying that giroud is ahead of the curve, he could slip backwards or it could take longer (down the road) to regain match fitness. Its tge beeb saying hell b back before 2015.

Theo Walcott and Serge Gnabry will play some part in Arsenal’s Under-21 home game against Blackburn Rovers this Friday.

Here's hoping. Welbeck's starting to settle now, benching him for loverboy would be an idiotic yet likely move.

Not as if Giroud didn't get 20+ goals last season. Wanting him not to be fit ahead of schedule is even more idiotic.

Apparently Ozil might be out for 6 weeks as opposed to the initially feared 12 weeks.

Arsenal fans out there:

Once Giroud is fully fit, do you see Welbeck as 1st choice and Giroud 2nd choice, or do you think Wenger will mix them up depending on the opposition? If so, who do you think will start more matches?

He's ****. Get over it. A real striker should score way more than 20 goals in all comps in this side.
