A lot of people like to knock Arsenal supporters, but as these 2 days have shown, we have the best supporters, especially amongst the top tier teams. If you thought Mancity's attendance was bad yesterday, with only 28000 out of a possible 47,000, then Manutd have outdone them, with an attendance of over 46,000 out of a possible bloody 75000!!!!!!! Chelsea were at 32,000 out of a possible 42,000, but everyone already knows Chelsea have a **** fan base. The mighty Arsenal? Over 58,000, Arsenal fans sold out their entire home allocation, the whole Arsenal section was taken. the only reason it wasn't at 60,000 was because Coventry didn't completely sell out their allocation at the top tier in the clock end. So knock us all you want, but these attendances put's all the other ****ers to shame, especially Manunited, ffs, 46,000? that's just under 30,000 empty ****ing seats.
It's Ivans cheaper tickets. I like to insult the guy, but weren't the tickets cheap for this game as it classifies as a lower category? If so, well done baldy.
Mancity's tickets were also made cheaper, all teams made their tickets cheaper for the cup fixture, it's still a major credit to Arsenal, cheap tickets or not, to sell their stadium out in the Capitol One Cup against Coventry City, that's what you call true support.
Having the large local fanbase is a big help. Unlike other "big" teams, the locals around the stadium actually seem to support Arsenal. Each time i;ve gone to a game, the houses on St. Thomas's Road and Gillespie Road have had flags in the window etc. If the people around support the team, cheaper tickets will encourage those who can't go to PL games to go to these. it's a shrewd business move, and it shows the people of north london and beyond have good taste.
Was a great tonight. The Carling Cup crowd do savour these nights and there was some good banter with the Coventry fans. Shame the next game is away.
Also the spuds support against Lazio was terrible the other night. You could have heard a pin drop at ****e hart lane.
It is a good move. It's a delicate balance between supply & demand. Drop prices & demand increases. You want tickets at the level where there are just enough fans prepared to pay that amount to sell it out. If there's too many fans, prices will increase, too few, they'll go down. I was hoping for an away game against a northern team so I could go, but I'll make to with Everton away hopefully!!
You should check out Man citys match thread for their champions league game last week. I saw ONE man city fan post something . what a joke.
I know I'll try & do Wigan away as it isn't far at all. The issue with travelling down for a home game is they're very expensive ticket-wise & a train ticket is also very expensive, even with a rail card. I just can't afford that much on student funding. I should be finishing within the next 6 months though and a real-world job should give me much more income to fritter away on football & other such luxuries
Didn't you guys have tickets going for a tenner? Not sure anyone else could match that. Fairplay though, it gets a lot of fans to matches when they couldn't normally afford to go, wish Spurs did that from time to time.
About 50ish. It can be less during the week or if you book massively in advance but generally around that.
After you graduate, you'll go straight into a job as a Barman or Waiter for a couple of years. Might be time to change allegiances to Tranmere Rovers if you want to go to games
