Arsene Wenger is preparing a bid for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Arturo Vidal as he plans for life without Cesc Fabregas and possibly Samir Nasri. The 24-year-old Chile international is currently with his national team preparing to compete in the Copa America. He goes into the continental tournament after an impressive season in the Bundesliga. He has established himself as one of league's most consistent performers and weighed in with 10 goals from midfield. The German side rate him at around the £15 million mark. His versatility would be an extra bonus for Arsene Wenger since he can also play at full-back. Manchester City are also rumoured to be interested in signing Vidal, and news of Arsenal stepping up their efforts to bag the player could spur City into a bid. One side who have already placed their bid are Serie A giants AC Milan. They have had a £9 million offer rejected.
