Here's an interesting article from arsenal.com concerning statistics from our first 10 games: http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/45405/behind-the-numbers We've had 10 different goal scorers already. Giroud leads the way in assists, with 4, followed by Cazorla, and Arteta, with 2 apiece. Arteta has the best passing accuracy not just in the team, but in the entire EPL at the moment, in the Champions League, Arteta is just behind Xavi in passing! Not only is Arteta the best passer for us, he's also had the most touches on the ball! It's amazing how much better Arteta has become this season, it may simply be that the deeper lying midfield position was always his best and most suited role, and that's another plus for Wenger, as he's responsible for converting Arteta to a more deeper lying midfielder player. I think Arteta's on 50 or 60k a week, I definitely think he's a player that is worth a raise in wages to something like 70 to 75k a week, he's a player that's really deserving of a better contract, and other players should take not too, if they want better wages and better contracts, then look to Arteta, that's what you need to do to justify an increase in wages.
The Arteta stats does not surprise me. I am pretty sure he has made over 100 passes in four different PL games this season. As for his contract, I am sure there was talk about giving him a pay rise, because if you remember he actually took a pay cut to join us.
He has not been converted, he actually started his career in that position, but due to his superior technical ability he was pushed forward at Rangers & Everton
