Arsenal (signing) watch...?

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Hoddle is a god, Aug 16, 2013.

  1. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants as many as three new signings before the transfer window closes on 2 September.

He said: "Ideally you would want to be quicker, but to finalise transfer you need agreement of three parties. You could see that our main rivals, it is not easy. You look at us, Chelsea and Manchester United - It's difficult to find quality players to strengthen the team and squad because there is a shortage of top players who are available.

"It's impossible to give you a number. The first request is quality to play for Arsenal Football Club. After the number comes in, yes we would like two or three players, if possible more. But we won't compromise on the quality of the players."

Sorry, but all of that is simply gibberish.

The man is dicking-off every single Arsenal fan.

Gazidis has a game of Guess Who with his manager to find out just how many players he's signed...

  7. - Arsene Wenger - appointed September 1996 - Arsenal

    - Alan Pardew - appointed December 2010 - Newcastle United

    - Sam Allardyce - appointed June 2011 - Newcastle United

    - Martin Jol - appointed June 2011 - Fulham

    - Malky Mackay - appointed June 2011 - Cardiff

I've lifted this off the BBC Football website.

Clearly, Whinger is bucking the trend in modern football. Anyone else believe, like me, that he's long out-stayed his usefulness at AFC and that he should move on for both his benefit and the benefit of his club?

I think this may well be the year that Gooners turn on him in numbers.

I think that's a very sensible move by Gustavo. It's a World Cup year and his place will be under serious threat. He needs to start as many games as possible.

  12. I love that interview, by the way.

"He would be perfect for Arsenal," opines the ex-AFC legend.

I tend to agree with him. Trouble is, of course, he doesn't want to play for Arsenal, he'd much rather play for the German equivalent of Crystal Palace. <laugh>

I've just seen their teamsheet for tomorrow:

Szezceny, Sagna, Mertersacker, Kos, Gibbs, Wilshere, Bernard, Gustavo, Rooney, Suarez and Higuain

Wow - the PL isn't gonna know what's hit it with that squad

    Oh wait... <ok>

  15. And to think they had the cheek to start a "let's laugh at Spurs" thread on their board!
    <laugh>

That's not coming back to haunt them in any shape, manner or form, is it

Not anywhere near as much as your infamous failed threads have come back to haunt you mate <laugh>

You set the bar so high when it comes to threads that come back to bite you on the arse,
that the bar is only visible using the hubble telescope <whistle>

<laugh> No Piskie, you can give it the Monty Python Black Knight routine if you want, but you're rinsed! I'd quietly do one if I were you, which I'm delighted I'm not!

  18. He's been rinsed, blow-dried, and neatly coiffeured, notso! It's all so easy and far too predictable that I no longer find any enjoyment in it.

The poor bastard is going to have enough to deal with handling the melt-down on his board, in the run-up to Xmas. It's going to get very messy over there.

Please guys, don't overdo it, our club motto should pretty much be "audere est facere, do not underestimate arsenal" after all

You have a little think about this Piskie...

If the TW closes and not one decent player has signed for you, that will be the most humiliating epic fail in PL history, never have Spurs been in this positon :D. The clear fact so far that no top player is remotely interested in whats on offer at your holiday home away from Woolwich, suggests that Wenger and fans like you are so deluded its beyond belief. You're ****, how you finished 4th still amazes me and was not on your merit, we ****ed up and gave it you. :)
