Arsenal Set To Battle Tottenham For Lucas Biglia

Arsenal and Tottenham are ready to battle it out for the signature of Anderlecht midfielder Lucas Biglia.



The 25-year-old enforcer earned rave reviews last season, as his performances in the Belgian Pro League earned him his breakthrough in the Argentina national side. According to sources in Belgium, his form has attracted the interest of Arsenal and Tottenham who have both sent scouts to monitor his progress.



The North London duo seem destined for a bidding war as Wenger's and Redknapp's admiration grows for the highly-rated Argentine. Biglia recently revealed he is keen on a move to a top European club in order to help his chances of more international caps.



'I think I have ended my cycle at Anderlecht and I want to do something new,' he said.

'Sometimes I feel I have to do more because I am playing in Belgium. I am aware that it would be easier if I was playing in a different league.'


Anderlecht have slapped a £7m asking price on their midfielder, with Sevilla and Valencia also interested.

With Denilson gone and Diaby injured AGAIN there is some logic behind this rumor, but i can't say i have ever heard of Lucas Biglia before. Maybe Tim Vickery might give more info about him on the world football phone in tonight. A backup for Song is needed so maybe this is our guy because he sounds like a typical Wenger buy.
