This s a heading from one of today's papers. Goes on to describe selling your best players and not replacing with ones as good has led to their demise. Sounds familiar eh? Just thinking, we've had the exact same over the past three years. That's our problem, forget about blaming managers. Not once have we replaced our top playes we've sold with someone as good and in some cases replaced with a nobody. It could only have ended one way. We must show ambition to hold on to our best players in the future and offer comparable contracts to top championship teams. We replaced our equivalent of fabregas and van persie with with journeymen

It is a shame for Arsenal but shows the way the game is going, Man City and Chelsea have the big spending power from rich owners and Man U have the fan base, will be a long time until we see the title not being fought out between those three. Arsenal have fallen into the next bracket along with Liverpool and Spurs. It puts things into perspective of just how far we are behind and raises a previous thread, will we EVER be back? Back defined as in competing for trophies...

I'm sure even Liverpool and Arsenal fans are wondering will they ever be back competing for trophies. Mind you, the ever deluded Liverpool fans still think they're close to being the best in England. Realistically, back for us, would be where Stoke and WBA are at the moment. We wont ever be better than that but most would settle for that methinks

Settle for being a Stoke or West Brom? Blimey we have lowered our aspirations!

By all means run the club along the same lines as those two, and if we did that we would surely be more than capable of pushing for more than PL mid table mediocrity. Our fanbase is already amongst the top five in the country.
We'd better get a move on though or else I'll be long gone before it happens!

The thing with Arsenal is that they could give two ****s about results. The board tweeted they only care about the Arsenal Brand which pissed off many of the fans. As long as they got companies such as Fly Emerates they don't care if the team win of not. I think this is why Wenger still has his job.

Wenger should have gone years ago. I think he's the luckiest manager in football, I don't know how a club like that can go so many years with out a trophy and still keep his job. If this was Man City or Chelsea he would have gone years ago. From what I can gather from friends who are fans of Arsenal half of the fan base don't have faith in him and wanted him out 2 -3 seasons ago.

Regarding players in and out Wenger has the money but doesn't want to spend it. He Arsenal board don't want to be held to ransom by over exaggerated wage demands like Nasri did. From what I can gather they have tried to keep their player look at Walcott and they tried hard with Cesc. Wenger's in have been terrible e.g Chamkah and Denilson (the only Brazilian who can't play football). Wenger wants young players in his squad cos he's a great talent developer.

Our side is that they just want the money for what ever Ken and GFH want. They don't care about the brand just the bottom line. GFH in particular trying the sell the club from day one. Ridiculous.
