Arsenal linked with Newcastleâs on-loan QPR striker Loic Remy Posted by Rob Parker on December 28, 2013 in: All News, Arsenal, Newcastle United, QPR, Transfer News and Gossip|Post Comment Arsenal are plotting the £12m signing of QPR striker Loic Remy, according to reports. The Frenchman has been in sensational form on loan at Newcastle this season and was singled out for praise from Gunners boss Arsene Wenger this week. The compliments could be the pre-cursor to an offer for the hotshot, according to Caught Offside. Wenger has been linked with attempts to sign the 26-year-old in the past. He could now step up those efforts as he seeks to bolster his attack. Arsenal need a goalscorer to share Olivier Giroudâs workload, and Remy already has 10 goals in his 16 games this season. Coupled with his six strikes in 14 appearances for a struggling QPR team last season, he has proven that he is a capable Premier League goalscorer. The reports suggest that a deal could already be in place that will see Remy move to the Emirates next summer once his loan spell on Tyneside has finished.
I thought he would've gone there this season. I hate to say it but he's too good to play for struggling teams.
I dont think we will get that unless the release fee clause has run out. It was a shock he didnt go to arsenal, theyve needed him since RVP left.
Watching the profile on him on sky just now. Asked where or what he wants next he says he does not know where he'll be and that the QPR president might want to keep him. Of course we know it's unlikely he'll be back here and beneath it all he wants to play for a big team...one with possibilities of success. Also said he missed playing champions league football so maybe that's why he keeps everything guarded on his future until he sees who finishes in top 4.
Thats interesting, maybe his clause has run out if hes saying that we can make him stay. Hes worth double the clause value if he scores 20-25 goals.
Fantastic striker and just what arsenal need. Ozil and Cazorla feeding Remy is a very dangerous combination.
Maybe that could be true. But I also get the impression he has a bit of class about him when he talks, and doesn't want to disrespect QPR by dismissing us or talking about other clubs when we still own him.
I also reckon he will go to Arsenal because the language will be easier to understand rather than Geordie or Arry's Cockney
Presumably all the above is on the basis Remy beats the gang rape rap. Last I heard, he was rebailed until last November. Haven't heard what happened then - it's all gone rather quiet on that front.
