I come in peace. this could be the best thing that has happend to you this season. wenger has to now buy players , you not only got hammerd. worse you gave up. you,ve got 3 days.
Probably better this result happened whilst the transfer window is still open. Let's hope Wenger does something about it
in all seriousness, i thought arsenal played very well midweek in europe, i cannot understand this result
Wenger should know in future not to spend £15 million on a 12 year old and £11 million on a non prolific striker from the french league. He's doing it again, he's signing yet another player from the french league whose goal-scoring record makes Fernando Torres at Chelsea look good. Only this time, its from the french second division. Its Park Chu Young, all the big clubs have turned him down, so that must tell you something.
Gervinho created everything against Udinese. Our defense was ****e there too, the difference being they are Udinese and the team we played just now is Man. Utd.
I totally agree with you on the giving up part, some of those players need to bow there head in shame. With regard to the buying new players, unfortunately I don't think its as easy as that, in my opinion this team needs to be dismantled and rebuilt, therefore addressing the whole mindset and style of play. Unfortunately this would probably take a few years to address and wenger hasn't got a few years, I think deep down he knows this team has failed and needs re-built, but also knows that he hasnt got the time to do it. The most disappointing thing for me is the mind set of the players.
He has to buy players but does he have enough time? Especially with him being so reluctant to spend, we all know what happens to a player's price tag when the transfer window is about to slam shut
Didn't Arsene pretty much inherit the likes of Adams, Dixon, Winterburn etc etc from George Graham? Arsene shouldn't go. He's done lots of things wrong recently but there isn't enough time for someone to come in and get the players in that he would want. Arsene needs to do this.
with our first team we would still have lost, just not as badly. problem is, we can't buy a million players, and we have to wait for players to come back before we can be strong again.
There is something wrong with Arsenals coaching, they are coached by Liam Brady who is a nitwit who thinks its still 1974.
While I agree with a lot of what you said in that comment, a players mind set, determination and courage can only come from within and can't really be coached, at the end of the game treore and lansbury were almost laughing as they walked of the pitch like it was some kind of joke. Surley players need to take responsibility for there own actions and performances rather than hiding behind the manager or blaming coaching, could you imagine the reaction of rooney and co if it were the other way round, they would never have just given up.
I made the point before that since the last of Arsenal's pre Wenger players (Keown and Parlour) left the club in 2004, Arsenal haven't won the league. Wenger made them all fitter and undoubtedly prolonged their careers, but he taught them sweet FA about defending, and since they left the quality of the Arsenal defence seems to have steadily declined. He shouldn't go, but he should bring in specialist defence and tactics coaching, as well as a short term motivational expert. He's trying to manage everything at the club, like SAF and Mourinho, but without their tactical and motivational expertise. And even SAF and Mourinho recognised when they needed help from specialist assistants like Queiroz and Faria to address the areas they weren't as strong in. Surely that's the point? A world class player is as much about coaching as it is about the player. Players like Ronaldo and Messi wouldn't be as good as they are today without the coaching they have received. If Arsenal players don't get that coaching, it doesn't matter how talented they are they won't become world class.
It all comes down to Wenger's snobbery. He'll only sign certain types of players that fit in with his cultural aesthetics.
