The amount of abuse between our fans recently has been alarming. I know we're all passionate and that's a good thing. I just wish we could respect each other's opinions a bit more. rather than resorting to insults and name calling. Our team need us more than ever at the moment. We might all have different views about what's wrong and how to fix it. But the best thing we can do at the moment is get behind our players. I also think that we need to dig deep and find some inner strength to support each other through this tough patch. United we stand, divided we fall.
A million miles from it mate. But respectfully, I'd ask that you respect the spirit of this thread which is calling for some unity between our fans. and isn't designed for a Spurs fan to use it as a cheap dig Thanks
Well said op, Football is a passionate pursuit and when things are not going our way as they have been for a while now, there is bound to be heated debate on the problems at hand and the potential solutions. However the team needs us to stand together right now, not fall apart with petty squabbling, it just doesn't serve any positive cause. Yes it's hard at the moment but that's what being a true fan is all about you stick with your team through thick and thin Come on you gunners!
Piskie I don't think you will find disunity amongst the fans when it comes to getting behind the team unless you refer to a lack of unity in opinion. Since this is a forum for discussion and a board is driven by the expression of opinions, I imagine opinions offered in reasoned discussion and civilised manner would be perfectly acceptable.
I know we've all been supporting Arsenal for different lengths of time, maybe for some of us older ones, we remember really barren times which makes it easier to see the bigger picture. We've got problems at the moment, that's undeniable, but squabbling with each other isn't going to solve them. Neither is booing the players or calling for the manager's head. The only positive impact we can make as fans is to get behind our team and support them.
I've only just slinked back to the forums! Thought it best to avoid for a few days as I couldn't be arsed to deal with said topics. Agree with the OPs sentiments though I'm sure he's as frustrated as me internally! Oddly, on the back of the Spurs game I went online and brought tickets for Sunderland and Stoke which I could a: not afford and b:think we'll do badly in. Not sure why I did it to be honest. Think it was a misguided 'f*ck you' to the world! * Obviously I'd like to go to every game if I can but finances/ other obligations dictate otherwise. I shall break the news about my purchases to the missus in my own sweet time...
Just glancing back through some threads. I wrote this over two years ago, asking for some unity between fans. This was before a certain group on our board made it their mission to divide Arsenal fans. Here we are again two years later. Let's hope that what ever our opinions, we don't go down this route again
Has that place grown enormously over the last few weeks? Probably more respresentative of the Arsenal fan base at this moment?
