Listening to TalkSports and one Arsenal fan has called for protests AFTER the Spurs game, what do you think? Is it time for protests? Because I do, the sh!t's really hit the fan. I mean if we don't win next week, or get a bad draw, it's going to be mayhem at the Emirates.

Football protests should be for when the fans want the board out due to gross mis-management of the club leading to extremely poor results on the pitch. You're in a bad patch, get over it.

What sort of protest would you envisage? and for what ends?

You've finished in the top four without fail for 15 years, it's really not a long-term problem. You've had a few bad results and people are going mental about it because they started supporting the club when things were rosy so have never known such relative mediocrity which for most would be seen as perfectly adequate.

A marching protest, calling for money to be spent on quality players, and getting rid of the dead wood such as Djoure, Squilachi, Rosicky, Chamakh, Park, Arshavin, Benayoun, Diaby, Denilson, Bendtner, and big question marks over Walcott.

  7. No I don't think we should be protesting at the ground.

I am still hopeful that even Wenger will see that he has got it badly wrong for years, resign and move upstairs and the board will set about bringing in a new manager with a remit for major change.

We should all get ready to protest, then Piskie and Oxocube can convince all of us not to, by telling us how things aren't really that bad, as we're still in the hunt for 4th, still in Europe against Milan, have a healthy financial self sustaining model, and how we have good youth players coming through (oxo, wilshere, frimpong, coquelan etc).

A few bad results? You don't know what you're talking about.

    Stick to posting about Watford.

I'm not going to tell you not to protest - I'd like to see you carrying a big question mark in the parade. <diva>

I'm not sure what protests would achieve. The board already know fans are unhappy. Indeed, it's the board that needs to go. Any way we can get rid of them?

The only way those twats will listen is if we stop going to the games. I've already decided not to renew my season ticket and once we hit the board in their pockets, then they will listen. Money talks and... you know the rest.

What would be good is if fans stopped going to the games en masse. There would be thousands of empty seats (no silly bin bags), just no-one in the stadium. Somehow the board must be made to sit up and take notice.

Exactly.. sadly, a sizeable number of 'fans' that attend these homes games are of the prawn cocktail variety. I just hope the real fans realize that sacrifices have to be me made in order to have our voices heard. If that means a half empty stadium then so be it.

I feel for both Wenger and the players... they really did look mentally finished today. And I'm pretty certain that while Wenger has made mistakes his resignation would not be the best thing at this stage.

Well if it was a whole season of terrible form you wouldn't be fourth so I think you're overreacting especially given everything Wenger has done over the years. I've probably been to more Arsenal games than you, albeit singles figures.

As for a protest, I'd be well up for that, everyone needs to know that the fans will not put up with this mediocre bullshine we are being fed. If the board or owner will not sanction proper squad investment maybe they will see the gravity of the situation when a few thousand Arsenal fans turn up shouting abuse <ok>

    1) I've had a season ticket on and off since 1992, so I very much doubt you've been to more games than me. Don't presume things mate.

    2) Finishing '4th' shouldn't be a satisfactory ambition for a club of Arsenal's stature and history. And it's not just the fact we haven't genuinely challenged for the title in seven years, it's the fact that we have players that don't deliver when it's crunch time or near the business end of the season. Oh yeah and we haven't won ONE competition since 2005. Unacceptable.

    3) Again, this whole 'Wenger Out' brigade is not a knee jerk reaction to a few bad results. We somehow manage to scrap fourthbecause other teams below us are not and shouldn't be on our level... but now this is the second time (the other time is when we narrowly beat Spurs to fourtha while back) we could miss out on CL football... this early in the season.

So no, I'm not being ungrateful. I'm not a johnny come lately nor am I a glory hunter. I am a man that makes an honest living, who puts money into this club and I get a slap in the face in return. If I didn't spend one penny on Arsenal for over 20 years then I'd have no right to complain. But since I do, I will continue to display my pure disgust for the direction in which this club is being taken.
