Once upon a time in the non too distant past, the whole city would have been buzzing that we were even in the last 16, let alone that we were playing one of the Top 4.
Now most people see it as a distraction, a boring distant inconvenience and even not as enjoyable as a trip to Gigg Lane.
Allowing that it's 'same old Arsenal, always inconvenient' (always a midweek evening, a Sunday teatime or a Saturday dinnertime) and always away, it's still sad that a game like this hasn't captured the city's imagination.

On the one hand, it's a measure of how far we've come in the last 10 years, but on the other hand, with City top of the league, the anticipation is just not there, the buzz is utterly absent.

May not even watch it tomorrow, I hate Arsenal and all they stand for (media bias, smug Home Counties fan base, turd manager etc) and don't want to see us get turned over/robbed/cheated/valiant losers again.

Good post, I agree with that, it's guaranteed that the ref will be a homer, a City player will get booked for **** all, the Arse will boo every time a City player makes a tackle thereby making the homer ref give a free kick, Harry McGuire, may take out three Arse players in one tackle, cleanly, but get sent off.

And in all media coverage the reporting will be 90% about Arsenal regardless.

With both clubs playing their second teams (like last year I think) I think it shows you what the FA Cup has become more than anything.

Expect loads of diving with several somersaults for effect from Arse at every 50/50 challenge.
A 'Dirty Northerners only wanting to kick us off the field......' look on Wengers face and outstretched arms as he sulks and glares at the referee from the touchline. Gasps from the seated home crowd at every challenge.
The Arse newspaper wanted the referee changed earlier this week because he sent two of their players off v Chelsea earlier this season. Sums up their arrogance before a ball has been kicked.
Biased commentary which will all be about Arsenal.
Several bookings and probably a sending off coming our way.
Highly likely they'll score a couple of goals from free kicks cheated on the edge of our penalty box of which Arse will 'win' several throughout the game.
We will be lucky to be awarded a corner.
Has anyone said the form book goes out of the window in the Cup yet ?
Not at the Arse it doesn't.
Good luck City, lightening might strike twice.

    A post from Tuesday.
"Arsenal get worst possible referee appointment for FA Cup game v Hull

Remember Mike Dean? The man who sent off Gabriel and Santi Cazorla in our match at Stamford Bridge in September but allowed Diego Costa to continue rampaging around the pitch. Gooners were so annoyed after his appalling display that we even petitioned to get him out of the Premier League (to be fair, it got almost 100,000 signatures)!
Dean has been criticised in the past for wanting to be the centre of attention during every match he’s officiating, which means he makes huge calls that have either been unnecessary or just plain wrong. He loves a card and awarding the opposing team a penalty, and we’ve failed to win almost 58% of the matches he’s refereed.
There’s a reason why his name strikes fear into the hearts of Gooners (and probably Arsene Wenger) and if you take a look at how Twitter has responded to the news… The Hull match will have an interesting atmosphere…"

    It's too wordy Kemps.

On the bright side, it forced the lazy ****er to put the actual match day thread up before the morning, so it's all good.

Congratulations to all those who attended yesterday. The worst great result we've ever had. But if SB can rely on his second XI to perform as well as that, there's no reason his first team will get too tired, and by pushing a game or two back it might even work in our favour as we'll have a better idea of what we need to do in those games in hand.
Don't understand why we arranged the BHA home game for last week instead of nearer the end of the season, and now we will have probably Brentford and NFFC games to push back too.
We need to sell Jaco immediately while his stock is still sky high. SB on radio after the game saying Tymon is a real example to local youth that it can be done and only half-joked that he wished they'd stop playing RL.
Dunno how much $$$ we made yesterday and from the replay which will probably be televised too. Over a million?
As for the Allams and the missing thousands, at what point are they all gonna park their strop and get back on board? This season gets better by the week.....

We can't sell Jakupovic, the window's closed and he's out of contract in the summer.
