Arsenal and QPR in shock link to Italian superstar Arsenal and Queens Park Rangers are both interested in Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero, according to talkSPORT. The former Italian international, 37, has mainly been used as an impact substitute for Juventus as the club have claimed their 30th Serie A title â beating AC Milan to the crown with one game to spare. However, despite the success, Del Piero has hinted that he could leave the Old Lady at the end of the season when his contract expires â something which reportedly interests Arsenal and QPR. Quoted by talkSPORT, the veteran forward said: âMy experience here [at Juventus] has been wonderful, with great happiness and enthusiasm, embracing my team-mates [after winning the title], and in all the games, whether I played or not. âIt was a little strange, but right now I only want to smile. âIn a few days we face the Coppa Italia Final, then there will be the time and the place to talk about the rest.â Arsenal are rumoured to have already tied-up deals for Cologneâs Lukas Podolski and Rennesâ Yann MâVila. QPRâs attempt at bringing Del Piero to Loftus Road would surely depend on whether they can keep their Premier League status for 2012/13.
It was his TV advert for Aqua Uliveto with that f*cking little bird that really did my head in. He has one of the most annoying, whiny little voices I’ve ever heard AND he's played for the hunchbacks from time immemorial. Here's just one of those adverts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laRWL3awlIQ&feature=related
One of the greatest players to grace Europe, no you're right guys, not worthy to pull on the hoops. And Imaz, think you got his voice mixed up with the little bird. Bit disapointed Imaz, when you said little bird I didn't think you ment it literally. Was expecting a fox (not literally)
Giggs? Scholes? And to give you one who only just retired in Italy, Maldini. As long as we're signing on merit and not past glories, and he plays based on the same, I won't be too disappointed.
"Has that been overdubbed for comic effect??? Actually quite funny.." Everything in Italy is overdubbed, even Italian films.
Juve have just won the Scudetto undefeated and Del Piero has played 22 games, starting only 3, scoring 2 goals. At his peak he'd be in any side you care to name but now is in the twilight of a great career. I doubt he'd sign for us if bigger clubs were interested and think we'd get a better, younger player for half what he'd cost...
