We have 4 English players on the field today, with 2 out, Wilshere on the bench, Walcott coming from injury, so realistically we could've had 5 English players on the pitch today, 6 when Walcott comes back.

And they say Arsenal don't do anything for English football, name another top side in the EPL who can say the same?

What's more impressive is that each of our 6 English players are first team members who have an important role to the team, so it's not like we're just plucking up some unknown reserve, so having said that, name any other top team in the EPL who can field 6 English players who are an integral part to the team?

Wenger said 10 years ago that it would take 10 years to blood the next crop of England internationals that were good enough for Arsenal <ok>

Not yet no. However i am referring to the fact we have many english players in our side and many many more playing at other clubs who came through our acadamy. More than any other. Through out all divisions.

He said name another club. I did.

I said mention proper players, not some players you plucked out to make the numbers, Wilson? Blackett? Get the **** out of here, you don't see me naming Isaac Hayden.

We would never have won all those Euro cups and World cups without the help of Arsenal, no words can describe how thankful we all are.

he said "and they say Arsenal don't do anything for English football, name another top side in the EPL who can say the same?"

when i read the OP i took it that by saying English players he meant England players i.e. that have been capped by England at full international level.

so name another club that have 7 England players <badger>

Yeh he didnt mean that at all. Because some of those players have maybe a handful of caps if that so are hardly helping the national team.

But name a side currently with 7 capped England internationals? 6 of whom (Theo, Oxo, Chambers, Gibbs, Wilshere and Welbeck) all have big roles to play for Engalnd in the future (granted one could also make the case for Jenkinson playing a role for England as Rb or backup RB in the future)

Well gibbs has 3 caps. Chambers has what? 1 or 2. So that leaves 4 important players.

    Rooney
    Jones
    Shaw
    Smalling

All have a role to play. An argument could be made for wislon and Blackett as future prospects. Welbecl got games as our 4th choice striker after all.

Nobody is denying that. Nobody has come out to say United don't contribute to the England squad. Nobody brought up United until you felt the need to for some reason.

You forgot Michael Keane, Young and Lingard. Plus we sold a couple in the summer to teams in need (Welbeck and Cleverley).

I took it that he meant playing English players and giving them the chance/experience to play for the national team.
