Arsenals relationship with the black community. A few things that lets me know that Arsenal really are the most progressive club when it comes to black people and other minorities in this country. Out of all of the big clubs none have had as many permanent black captains as us, Vieira,Henry,Gallas now Aubameyang. Spurs had S.Campbell(lol) and L.King. City had kompany the rest have had none I might be wrong but I can't remember. In 2002 away to Leeds we was the first and only team to field 9 black players in the history of the premier league 9 days later we done the same in the champions league against Aurexxe. We hold the record for fielding most black players in both the premier league and champion's league. Not arsenal but this is what Weah had to say about Wenger. "When racism was at its peak, Arsène Wenger took care of me like his son. He taught me that black & white guys can live together. He’s a father figure. Every time I was on the football pitch, I was ready to break my head, my face, my neck to win games for him.” Guys please feel free to add to this I would appreciate it alot
Also to add I dont have the exact figures but 9/10 black people I've met in my life who live in London support arsenal
Yeah we've always been a progressive Club - huge fanbase in Africa. Need to keep speaking out against racism - there's no place for it in our sport.
I think it's down to the fact we had a lot of successful black players in our team down the years, Chelsea might gain the next generation due to Drogba, mikel ect.
Spurs must have a lot of BAME supporters as well. And Chelsea, being a London club, should also have huge numbers of BAME as well.
