Kovacic sent off for what was not a second yellow, Arsenal goalie handles outside the area and not sent off and no penalty awarded, Pedro fouled and no free kick and Pedro gets injured trying to save the situation. Two good Arsenal goals but this was never a fairly officiated Cup Final. Man of the Match - referee Antony Taylor.

A very biased and one sided performance from the referee. He got Kovacic totally wrong 2nd yellow, probably the first as well, and every single defining action went to Arsenal. Couldn't believe the Goalie incident, just a blatant wrong decision.Impossible to win when you are constantly being stopped and free kicks given against you.
That said, we did ourselves no favours. After a great start it wasn't long before we started the old Jorginho sideways and backwards game, with Alonso, Rudi and Zouma joining in enthusiastically. Willy was peppered with balls heading towards goal, all from our backwards passing. The only forward motion was from Arsenal. So pathetic was our midfield, the only time we got into Arsenal territory was by long balls from the back over the midfield.
Best add a dynamic midfielder to the list of "needed badly" positions, Kovacic and Mount kept looking to run onto balls that never came from Jorginho.
Put the broom through the recurring under performers and move on.

Why would a player have a penalty awarded against them if they hand balled outside the area?
The keeper decision was a good one (and great keeping), he kept the ball and his hands inside the area. The rest i agree with you on, no way was a second yellow for Kovacic (not even a foul) and the first yellow was debatable.

The only good thing about this result is Spurs are now out of Europe. Love seeing them get shafted.
Arsenal shouldn’t have won that. They’ve been utter tripe all season, however this has been the state of our play.
Hopefully next season, combined with some key signings we’ll be more of a force to recon with.

I don’t rate Jorginho at all, he got the Captain’s armband when ‘Dave’ had to go off. You’re right in that Jorginho should have been feeding Kovacic and Mount but as Captain he’d rather play safe and pass sideways and backwards. Nasty looking injuries to Dave, Pulisic and Pedro - they haven’t got long to recover before the league season starts again.

Could well be they have pushed their bodies too far last few weeks, though Pedro was very unfortunate to get an injury on what might be his last game for us. He's been a terrific player for the Club, a real professional who always gave his all. Hope things improve for him, and if he goes to Roma, wow, what a City to be in to finish your career. Hope he gets a chance for a proper farewell when (and if ) things get back to normal.

We were just unlucky i'm afraid....So looking forward to Pulisic and his new strike partners next season.
