A very satisfactory day
With what sounded some very good play,
A friendly, we know
But they still had to show
The style, here just one week away

And most of them got a run out
At least those who´re in with a shout,
Of playing next week
All ready to peak
At Wigan, for our opening bout

And Parma who came and looked round
At the pitch and the fans and the ground,
Seemed gentle indeed
If not up to speed
But still they were thoroughly downed

Good to see Holty bag one
And Surman enjoying the fun,
With all of the new
Lads again on view
PL´s got them timing their run

So goodbye to Parma and Co
´Arrivederci´ and mind how you go,
To Man U. and `Pool
We´re ready and cool
