Interesting that TransferMarkt lists him at €5m when we paid £4m. Normally the value would at least double for an experienced 21 year old. He's also left footed, but prefers to play on the right, which should suit our tactics and make him a decent replacement for Sara. Looks to be a good signing without breaking the bank and according to the Pinkun, he could play tomorrow.
Glad they've got the name Forson printed on the back of our new midfielder's shirt and not that long name, could be a bit awkward for fans and commentators to prononounce Would be nice to see him score "Four son" in a game for City thou
https://x.com/cjsouthwell1902/status/1822016355991962052 Marseille have formally bid for Rowe, supposedly short of asking price. I don't think we want to sell, but maybe a bidding war with Leeds could force us to consider it. I guess it depends on if it all happens too late in the window to replace him.
He sure does sound excited to be here He did sound genuinely happy about the training facilities though, but maybe his lack of excitement can temper Sainz
He's speaking in a foreign language in a foreign country trying to make the best of a very strange unnerving situation.
He'll be relieved to be running out onto the pitch at Oxford today; much less stressful than being interviewed and easier for him to make a fan-pleasing statement!
So, it’s four in and one out so far. The Idah saga goes on; what exactly is going on with this possible transfer? Is it just money or some other reason that the issue has not been resolved? Rowe to either Leeds or Marseille or? Are there any other players on our radar?
Crystal Palace winger Rak-Sakyi has been rumoured, he looked class a year ago when on loan. He would most likely be a loan for us as apparently Leeds have had an offer of £15m turned down
The Rowe offer is reported to be £7m. This seems low compared to a possible £6m for Idah. Just read that NCFC want £15m.
let’s face it, if Leeds want to take the lad on loan instead of buying him, he is more likely to go there than to CR. The debacle that was NCFC v Oxford Untd will possibly put some players off coming to,the club.
Best solution to the Rowe and Idah situation that we could play out would be a swap deal of Idah for Mikey Johnston and an offer of £12-15m for Rowe and use that money to find an Idah replacement
As Thorup said after the Oxford game, he and Knapper want a culture at the club such that this sort of thing (i.e. players opting out of playing) just doesn't happen. Any path back for Rowe will, I presume, involve acceptance, as well as apologies to team mates, staff and fans. This is his chance to man up and leave the spoilt kid behind.
I can't see anyone bidding £12--15m for Rowe. Too many question marks over him now, and plenty of less speculative alternatives at that price.
Mikey Johnston, a winger, is valued at £3m on TransferMarkt, so we'd effectively be selling Idah for less than the £4 Celtic bid for Idah that was knocked back. Things seem to be sinking fast.
