ALB ? Would love to see a local boy as an established first teamer, but for me ALB just dosn't do it. Hes not R Wright, nor will he ever be.. At fault for 2nd goal yesterday, the game changer imho. Last week ,really should have seen red for his M Thetis style 'tackle', almost spilled a simple ball into his net later on . Does the simple stuff relatively well, but think hes prone to to many errors not to end up costing important points over the length of a seacon. Hes prob on quiet good terms(for ITFC), he seems happy to warm the bench, which is where i think he should generally stay The question is, who would Jewllio replace him with?
ALB has played better than Fulop or Wrighty (in that woeful spell at the beginning of Keane's reign) did. He makes too many rash mistakes but maybe that's down to confidence at never having a proper run in the first team. I don't think he's ever Premier League material but you have to remember the circumstances under which he signed. To say that he'd rather be warming the bench is very harsh. I've got no doubt that he's doing his absolute best but he doesn't have the experience or the ability to make the right decisions sometimes. We need a 'proper' keeper in the summer but I don't think ALB deserves criticism.. he was brought in as back up, he's local, his terms are probably not commensurate with a number 1 goalkeeper at this level and I'm sure he's doing his best.
I would have thought his current run would have given him that much needed confidence, but he is just prone to simple goalkeeping errors; it may be because he panics under pressure or the simple fact that he needs a decent back 4 in front of him to give him that extra confidence.
