The 23-year-old frontman joined AZ in the previous winter transfer window and has netted 14 goals in 23 league games for the Dutch side since his move from AGF Aarhus. Johannsson, who plays for the United States on the international stage having been born in Alabama, has been heavily linked with a transfer to Scottish champions Celtic and even tweeted a picture of himself at Glasgow airport on Thursday. However, SportsDirect News understands Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers are also interested in Johannsson’s signature and recently sent their chief scout to watch the forward in action. The west London side currently sit in third place in the second-tier and Rangers Harry Redknapp could use another option upfront as only Charlie Austin has managed to reach double figures so far this term. Fulham and Sunderland have previously been linked with Johannsson and current Premier League leaders Arsenal were rumoured to be interested in his services over the summer.
