    I always liked him.

I suppose we aren't really in the marker for a left back but I would have been happy to see him come and Santon go. We might even have made money on the deal.

He was average at best! Did well in the brief glimpses he was here but Haidara is much better

Patrick Van Arnholt. Left back, loanee from Chelsea, filled in for Enrique a few year's back when he had picked up a knock.

Good player for us in the Championship, never going to get a chance at Chelsea. Be interesting to see how he goes at Sunderland.

    Not Prem standard.
Not too fussed about who our neighbours sign to be honest.

We don't have a left back so he has to be better than what's there!

Nobody knew or rated Alonso when he came. He was just a Bolton reject but Gus got him playing suited to his style and he just got better and better along with his profile being raised. I'm hoping the same happens with this lad.

Not much in it stat wise between the two lads, will be interesting to see who beds in quickest. From what I've heard Arnie is pretty poor defensively but an absolute menace going forward, just needs to tidy up his deliveries. All I care is that we own a left back. We own a ****ing left back!

I think there's a good chance he'll end up being a good player for them though see him as a mid table player (nothing wrong with that!). You can spend £15m+ on a player and its still no guarantee they will do anything good or settle into the team/area/etc so to get a 23 year old who almost made the plane to Brazil in a Netherlands shirt for apparently peanuts is good work in my book.

Meh, Anrholt is what you need if your target is survival, which is Sunderland's, not ours. Ours is surely top 8, 10 min.

Not as much as as how you think replacing better players with lesser players will help you achieve more.

Personally, I think team chemistry and morale is more important. But the players we have got in -

Remy Cabella + Siem De Jong - We've lost Cabaye, but gained two playermakers, one who is potentially a prolific goal scoring midfielder.

Janmaat, not as good as Debuchy, but still good, and far more tame. Debuchy was often too impulsive. I'd rather have a player that doesn't lose his head. He was part of a defense that reached 3rd in the world cup, and managed to keep world class players at bay.

Colback. Free, passionate and real potential. Great squad member.

Revierra - Quick, 10 goals in 19 stars in the french league, skillful and a right good addition.

We've kept Coloccini which is a signing in itself, and we have an all round solid midfield that is better than anyone elses outside the top 6/7. All we need is another striker and we could easily challenge in the top 7/8.

Suck my sack if you disagree.
