Sentiment aside .... I agree on Ash for captain .... we need defensive cover and it doesn't matter what that means for Tate or Monk. Caulker and Williams are our number one center back partnership. We have no real left back cover at this level unless Jazz Richards is used. Sooner or later Alfei may be called on if Rangel suffers an injury. Tate and Monk for me are center back cover only.
Would this guy come just to be back up? I doubt it, so if he starts, are we thinking about dropping Ash or Caulker? I doubt that too. I can't see a player coming from Barcelona, B team or not, just to sit on our bench. He might be versatile and able to play at full back, so do we drop Rangel or Taylor if he starts? Interesting but I'd rather we were looking for midfield solutions.
