Not particularly enamoured with Robben, has lost a bit of the pace that made him so effective.

Would prefer Marin if anyone, or Farfan, which is apparently a possibility?

His wages are too high and he probably looks like he's about Rupert Murdoch's age now.

i'll take that as no thanks then- just thought I'd confirm what I already thought.
Not heard about Farfan or Marin.

I thought it was Afellay that we'd been linked with, rather than Farfan?
He played against us a few years back with Gomes for PSV.

I don't see him as any replacement for Modric at all, Lennon perhaps, you spend enough time on this board to know the difference Luke!. You also know the source of your article, is on par with tribalfootball <yikes> <doh>. You do yourself no favours with the posters still dubious of your intentions, even if its only meant tongue in cheek, because as McEnroe woiuld say "you cannot be serious!" with this.

He's an O.k. player. But, he failed with The Chavs, maybe, as he's older, he'd do better second time around. Sounds like a highly speculative non-starter, to me.

Don't know why I thought it was your article Luke...my bad! You're right on wages, and not a position we need covering either. <ok>

He didn't fail at Chelsea, NSIS.
He moved to Real Madrid from Stamford Bridge.
He failed in Spain, arguably, where he played a lot on the left.

His wages and injuries would worry me.
Not sure about where he'd fit into the team either, but I suppose you could have him and Lennon on the wings, with Bale shifted to left-back.
    Pretty scary, actually.

A 'luxury' attacker with no defensive ability...incase he gets injured!

He's frankly the same level as Bentley on the left, so I would definitely play him on the right or behind the striker. He always looks great in internationals, though I never really see him in the Bundesliga.

    Probably all rubbish though.

Sorry mate, but I seem to remember him being pretty anonymous in his time with The Chavs.

I remember Robben being pretty lethal at Chelsea, when he was fit.
Spent a fair amount of time out injured.

Another couple of points against him would be that he loves a dive and he has a son named Luka! <yikes>

Yes, I remember the WC final. He spent half the game doing his Tom Daly impersonations. I thought Mourinho outed him, as he didn't rate him.

He moved for £24m, claiming that he'd won everything there was to win in England, so I doubt it, NSIS.
    Could be wrong, though.

He didn't dive much at all IMO. He was through on goal, was fouled, got up carried on then was fouled again. I think he was targeted.

Robben would be a brilliant signing, much better than Lennon and can actually shoot as well.

Wages would be a problem again though.
