"Tony Pulis wants to ship Arismendi out on loan to boost the midfielder's chances of a long term future in ENGLISH FOOTBALL. Pulis is disappointed no club came in for the 24 year old during the Jan transfer window?"

After alot of fans felt he showed promise and gave a positive contibution in the Valencia game - which TP himself agrees - and also had a decent start against Besiktas, it seems another talent may go unproven at Stoke. At a cost of 2.5 million plus back in 2009, he has made only a handful of apperances and has spent two loan periods at Brighton & Barnsley trying to prove he is capable of contibuting in our premier league campaign.

My question is this: Why did we invest 2.5 million on an unproven talent, send him out on loan twice, hope for him to go out on loan this January, selct him for a key European game (which he did very well in) and then want him out again on loan? If he is good enough to be selected for one of the biggest games in our clubs history then surley he is good enough to play an active part in squad?

    I'm confused?

Does seem strange, I didnt think he'd be involved in the Swamsea game after a Europa match, but I was hoping he'd be getting in the team not long after. I've not seen a great deal of him, but I'd say he's not far off the abilities of Whitehead and Whelan, better than Delap. I wouldn't mind if he went out on loan to a top championship club, but any lower wouldn't show any ambition to try and get him improving and back into our 11.

Nothing but nothing surprises me that spouts out of the mouth of our miserable, pathetic excuse of a manager.

The last part of the article on the sky website is:

Pulis added: "He has got time and he has got the talent."

If TP thinks he's got the talent, then why doesn't he play him?!?!?

I must say I am suprised that after getting an opportunity and TP spouting how the away Valencia team were better than the home leg it seems unfair to not give the kid a chance. I did note that he said "english football" and not Stoke which would indicate to me that he may be looking to off load him to another club on the back of a successful loan. Its seems that he may go the same way as Marshall which is a shame really, but lets wait until it does or doesn't happen before we judge.

    Potter,
You had better include me as well, I am afraid.

I have completely had it with TP. Shotton as the new wide right midfielder on the basis of 3 crosses against Swansea? And I am not having a go at Shotton - it is just Pulis grasps at the latest straw to defend his ludicrous strategy, selections and justification of his utterly sterile approach to football.

He really does treat the fans as complete imbeciles, and I am now really struggling to seperate my dislike of his approach from the fact that I support Stoke, and therefore I should just put up with him?

He should actually accept that he is not bigger than the club, and that very occassionally he does make mistakes - but that would really not be his style.

Each to their own - but when their is no thrill to be experienced in watching the team, and I am left continually wanting to scream abuse at the Welsh Wizard rather than enjoying my time at the Brit, then I will not be renewing the 5 tickets I currently pay for ; I will write to Mr Scholes and TP explaining why, but I don't expect anything other than the standard reply (if that) - look at what we have done, don't get ahead of yourself, do you really expect to see a goal in open play, be thankful for premier league football. If you want entetainment, go to the Circus!
    Enough is enough.

  8. Swervyhof et al,

I am sorry that you are so hacked off. I am disappointed the way TP selects the team. I thought in Spain that Arismendi did very well in midfield and I hope on Saturday that he is on the bench at least. For me I would like to see Palacios, Jerome and Pennant starting on Saturday.

Yes I was gutted in Spain when I first heard who was left behind. However, during the game my view along with others was that they were playing better than those playing in the first leg. The team gave it a right go.

TP is stubborn, and I do not like seeing telling players where to stand when we have a corner or when defending a corner. They are professionals and should be able to determine how to attack and how they defend set pieces.

I have said many times what I think and agree it is frustrating the way he carries on. He tellls us how many games we have played, how splendid the lads did today, how good the oppisition are. From just the interviews, one can see how he lacks invention.

I hope above all that Coates finds somebody of QUALITY to give TP ideas on how to play inventive football.

My frustration is worse when I see all other games on MOTD where teams seem to score for fun where we only seem to score the vast majority of goals from set pieces.

Arismendi on loan NO WAY PLEASE!
