I see no-one has posted a match report yet. I thought I would give it a try so let me know what observations you agree and disagree on.

Argyle started strongly and it was no surprise when Feeney put them ahead after 4 minutes with a powerful header after good work down the right flank by Bignot.
Stourbridge looked ripe for the taking but as the game progressed more errors crept into the Argyle game and the all too familiar hesitancy in the Argyle defence left Drake with ample room to equalise with a close range header. (Wasn’t it 1588 that Drake last played at Plymouth!).
The game was crying out for Argyle to take on the Stourbridge defence and test a goal-keeper who did not seem brimming with confidence. However Argyle were content to try the patient approach to try to break down the Stourbridge defence when a much more up and at them tactic was needed.
The inevitable happened early in the second half when Larrieu came rushing from his goal for a ball which was never his and he was still back peddling as he was neatly lobbed by Rowe.
With Argyle huffing and puffing they eventually equalised when with the crowd urging Fletcher to shoot, he did and with the help of a massive deflection the ball ended up in the Devonport end net.
The impetus should have been with Argyle but it was the non-leagers who took the lead again when Robbie Williams brought down the lively Rowe in the box to concede a penalty. Rowe looked suspiciously offside but Gebbis hammered home the penalty giving Larrieu little chance.
However the 10 men came storming back and after a surging run into the box by Bhasera who was easily man of the match, he forced an equalised through the legs of keeper Solly.
Worse was to follow on the disciplinary front when Argyle were reduced to 9 men after a lunging one footed tackle by Hourihane received the same yellow card punishment as a similar tackle he made earlier in the game.
Even with the loss of two men it was Argyle who finished slightly the stronger but at the final whistle both sides seemed relieved with the replay.

Larrieu 5 – a few hesitant moments but handled crosses well.
Bignot 6 – disappointing after his excellent debut performance the previous week.
Nelson 4 – a real off day for the normally reliable Curtis.
Williams 4 – not Robbie’s position in the centre of defence and it was surprising Gibson was not preferred.
Bhasera 8 – easily Argyles best player both defending and dangerous coming forward.
Hourihane 6 – looked dangerous at times but drifted in an out of the game.
Walton 5 – lost possession in midfield too often. Unlucky with a shot which hit the post.
Fletcher 6 – not at his best but showed great passion.
Atkinson 5 – didn’t really stamp his authority on the game
Feeney 7 – ran tirelessly and held the ball up well. Took his chance nicely.
Lecointe 6 – bundles of enthusiasm but not the finished article yet.

Simon Hooper 0 – **** refs, we always get **** refs!

Thanks Greens................. Good report, falls in line with most reports read.............found it difficult to see ITV report recording........I can get the sound but only with other match pictures........weird.

I hope the early goal didn't make them think that it would be just a doddle..........they seem to fall away after 20 mins.

Leadership and direction seems to me to be the problem..............they need an experienced man in charge............it is worrying seeing that they had their senior players on the pitch...........I assume Walton is still captain whilst Fletcher is on the pitch.............that seems to me as the tail wagging the dog............strange situation I find.

Did anyone else have problems getting on this site last night ?..............between 6pm and gone 11pm all I got for this site was....."the database has encountered a problem".......all other websites where ok.

Good stuff greens, I agree completely with your analysis of the team.

I admit I was unable to post a match report as I was in a trauma induced coma after the game.

Still I shall not be at the Northampton game as I am joining a beggars rally in London so, the door is open for anyone to post.

    ;)

Firstly a reply to Milton Archer - the comments regarding the refereee are slightly tongue in cheek but I generally feel that we ge under performers who don't make consistent decisions as displayed by Mr. Hooper on Saturday.
And to you Hobo - I too was traumatised and haven't slept since! Why else would I have been making this original post just before midnight.
