One down in the 93rd minute. Bit typical at the moment isn't it.

    1-0 defeat in the 93rd minute....moments away from the knock-out stage....typical.

    Other interesting results.....

    Accrington...2-1...Liverpool U21.
    Bolton...3-1,,,Man City U21.

We only needed to draw to go through.

Just watched the video......just couldn't see the game out for a draw....which would have had us winning the group.

Sounds as if Aimson played well and when he went off injured we were not so solid and were cut open for their winning goal.

Hopefully Aimson isn't unable to play Saturday....we need him fit.

Surprised that Josh Grant came on as a sub against his parent club....reports are he did well in a mid-field holding role.

Michael Cooper saved well but comments about his poor distribution hasn't helped him to leap frog Palmer.

We are missing a commanding figure in midfield pulling the strings....last season we would never have considered having Carey out of the starting eleven....not so with Mayor...lots of hype when he came...but it is becoming obvious that he is a poor replacement for Carey...whose goals from free kicks etc we certainly miss.

It looks like we will not have a settled side this season...because we just cannot keep players fit...especially up front....so mid-league oblivion is beckoning unfortunately....only a settled first eleven can change that.

If Aimson is out for Saturday than the whole effort last night will be a disaster....plus the injury time defeat for confidence....it just ain't working out for Ryan Lowe.....how did he keep his players fit so well last season at Bury....things seem to be balancing out at Argyle's expense unfortunately.

Depends on your definition of "commanding" but a lot of fans want Antoni Sarcevic to be captain because of his evident passion for the game and for Argyle. Still, he doesn't need an armband to inspire others and perhaps the experienced Sawyer is better able to mentor the other players off the pitch as well as on.

Mayor has tremendous skills but is an individual character rather a leader of others. George Cooper did very well in the Carlisle and Orient games in a similar role and I can see why Lowe stuck with a winning team rather than reinforcing the perception tat Mayor always plays come what may. The wheels seem to have come off that particular wagon against Exeter!
