Been looking at a revamp of this for next season just want to gauge a bit of feeling either way.
    1. The cut off time for predictions will be the time of the first kick off after that the thread will be locked.
    2. If you cannot get your predictions in for whatever reason (work pc etc.) then PM me with them and I'll put them in no problems.
    3. The scoring will change to correct score first then result as it's harder to predict a correct score than a result, the winner being the one with the most correct scores followed by correct results.
    4. I'm also looking at a league table system whereby you get 2 points for a correct score and 1 point for a correct result.
    5. The weekly adoration and ridicule will stay decided on a tie breaker if necessary and, the table will be put up each week.

Any other suggestions will be considered (then ignored) fill your boots kids.

Nice one talc, I think it's great that you're putting thought and effort into this <ok>

Not sure about the score 1st, results second mularkey, let's see what others think ...

Most of us are regular weekly competitors, perhaps we could all sign in here with our not606 usernames;- sunderland-mad beat the manager - I think this would be perfect for all season scores. It's better than most predictors as it only deals with our own beloved Sunderland results.

Stickied it to get a few more inputs,as I say it's only a thought if people are happy with the original format that's fine too.

Yeah happy with the league table and everything else.

A bit unsure about the correct score first but good idea to award an extra point for it. <ok>

Rather than correct score first, why not just have 3 points for a correct score and 1 point for a correct result, and the weekly winner can be judged on that basis?
I love the idea of an ongoing league table..<ok>

Would there be any bonus points for correctly predicted high scores eg Sunderland 10 v 0 Newcastle. Got to be worth an extra point surely.

    I like the idea of a league table, but this creates a couple of problems;

    1. how do you cater for someone who misses a week?
    2. how do you allow new entries once the season has started?

In my experience (i) less than 5 - out of a weekly average of 30+ participants - managed to submit an entry EVERY week and we often relied on the many 'floaters' who pop in on a regular basis, so it is something that needs to be addressed .

I'm sure some of our techie friends on here can come up with a solution.

Good luck to both Talc and Comm - and I eagerly look forward to the new format.

P.S. How about also allocating bonus points based on age!!

How about two league tables with promotion and relegation? We can draw to see who goes in the top flight and the rest go in the prediction fizzy pop. Maybe do promotion/relegation two or three times a season to keep it interesting...

This problem could be solved by not counting games played, so then if someone misses a week/weeks then tough titty..

That's what I was looking at RAW no games played so to speak and any missed games can be PM'd to me if they feel the need if not they lose out. Will try the two league system not sure how we can say who goes where any suggestions kids?
Thinking we could try the SPL system after say the end of November the league splits into two then we have our two leagues for promotion and relegation, the best predictors stay in the PL the crappest in the Fizzy pop.
