I don't understand why we have to have these stupid friendlies during pivotal moments in the season, are they really necessary? And knowing our luck, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a few players injured. My obvious worry is RVP. England play the Netherlands on Wednesday and knowing how England play I wouldn't be surprised if he gets injured. Also, I have a strange feeling Walcott will start after yesterday's performance and he's prone to injury. We have an important game this week against Liverpool and then against AC Milan (which I haven't given up on yet) Fingers crossed that no serious injuries crop up during these friendlies eh?
Every team is in the same position (except Utd who have the added benefit of SAF telling the England manager that none of his players are fit only for his medical team to work miracles and get them 100% for the next league game). I agree that friendlies are pointless and serve no purpose other than meet obligations for TV/sponsors, I am sure the national manager would much rather have a couple of week extra with the players leading up to a tournament
I think it is worth giving up on the Milan fixture mate. Cant see us keeping a clean sheet and certainly cant see us scoring 4 or 5 vs them.
True.. it's a shame none of our players feigned injury near the end of Sunday... but during a match like yesterday's it would be hard to do so. We've got nothing to lose. 2 goals either half is possible. But I agree, if we concede once, it's pretty much over. I'd be less optimistic if we had to go to the San Siro with a four goal deficit... but at home who knows? I'm definitely going to that match. Bacon face is certainly a crafty fox when it comes to getting his players out of international duty.
Van Persie will get injured tomorrow. You know it will happen. Luckily, Chamakh will become a 20 goal a season wonder
