We have just moved above arsenal and spurs into 6th place with a comfortable win at st James' . It's pretty good up here. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF!!!!!!!!
Being 17th was the important part of that sentence. I would have no problem with being 6th by hoofing the ball at the moment. The gap between that and relegation allows for a bit of experimentation and for fans to enjoy the game.
Of course I would like to be where you are, you have a very good settled team, Allardyce has proved this season he can manage a football team with expectations and deliver.
HOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF, chew chew, Dour, Dour........Ermmm No thanks. p.s. glad you lot are happy
tbf...if he gets results, I suspect you could learn to live with Sam. I think WHU are in a false position (their fans know they are not top 6), but it is easier to stay high up the table than it is to get there. Look how we stayed at the top all last season and how Huddersfield couldn't catch us in League One despite a great run. Well done to the Hammers and let's concentrate on crawling out from bottom three and then staying there.
West Ham had premier league players already and added one very good CM to their ranks and a CF suited to their style. I still stand by what we are trying to do; succeed or fail.
Well done Big Fat Sam and West Ham. You are doing well and nobody can dispute that - i also dont think that West Hams playing style is so bad this season either as they play a very effective system for them which can be quite watchable. To be honest some of Barcelona's passing for the sake of passing can be damn boring imo and as we have seen recently not always effective. I am glad that we play how we do too and it would be a sad old world if we were all the same. I have a bet on with my WH supporting mate that we will beat you down here on 13th April though !
Only messing chaps. Dman is spot on. The hoofs are there sometimes but we play some decent football mixed in aswell. The purpose of the thread was to see if your support of what Adkins is trying to do is still unwaivering. You have a ready made striker in Lambert which would enable you to adopt our style a bit more and maybe start picking up more points? Go on..... You know you want to! Winning is great fun
Our first 11 this season contains 6 players that weren't here last season. We bought well with Jussi, Collins, Diame, Jarvis, Benayoun and Carrol who are first teamers and also added Maiga, Diarra etc who will all play important roles as back up. So no we didn't already have a ready made premiership team. We had a team that finished below you last season and needed strengthening. We spent a similar amount to you in the summer. The difference is, we spread it out on proven premier league performers. You could have done the same.
Ours has seven but hey I prefer to see West Ham doing well than some other teams. We'll get some good form going soon enough though.
Oops i misread your first sentence. Apply palm to face... but a point is made that only Gaston was in our midfield or attack yesterday who wasn't here last year. And by most people's account our attack is no problem at all.
When questioned by a Pompey fan about our planned purchases, I said we wouldn't necessarily buy experience as we like a certain style of player and would probably buy young. I also added that we wouldn't know if that was the correct way until the end of the season. Saints fans are proud of their team...and enjoyed watching them over the last 3 seasons. I admire Nicola for sticking to his plan for Saints...after all he's the one (together with Nigel) who will carry the can. He may become pragmatic in the short term, but it will only be a brief detour to ensure survival.
