He has certainly upped his game, but as a striker he really needs to be scoring goals..

But Graham, Altidore, Fletcher, Wickham and now Defoe are not/have not been scoring many goals perhaps it the method of play and the service they are getting?

Of course that is a big contributory factor..We are simply not creating enough chances, but when we do we are also not converting enough into goals..

Hes had chances and missed. Yes his workrate has gone up but hed still be behind Wickham and Fletcher for me.

Fletcher could do nowt all game whilst danny graham runs round like a headless chicken. One on One with the gk who would you want it to drop to?

Yet on paper we have some decent players, well enough to field a decent first 11.

Sadly once they get on the pitch, it all gans to pot.

I do get the feeling that a lot of our players look like they are playing with shackles on that makes defending the major top priority. This is having the consequence of not being a potent force when we go forward..

yes he has upped his work rate....(lets face it, that could only go one way from what he did before) but he remains a rank average player and no where near premiership standard. I am baffled how he gets near the first team

You play a similar system to the one Van Gaal ****s over so much, it gets very little success in this league for whatever reason. It's good for keeping games tight, Mourinho is the master of using 3 centre halves and packing the midfield to 'get the job done'.

We barely score many either, too obsessed with keeping the ball like it's the aim of the game. To make the system work you need very clever players and quick players as well.

At the moment, Fletcher isnt scoring the easy ones either is he ? I seen a couple of chances drop to him, and he scuffed them. the only striker I would trust to put the ball in the back of the net atm is Defoe

Id still fancy Fletcher over Graham any day of the week.

Its admirable that he seems to have dropped a few clem and got himself fit but if he's got a long term future here it means that we got relegated this summer

We're about as potent up front as a soft cock.

We've only went 352 on a couple of disasterous spells our problem is personnel we just don't have a creative or dynamic enough midfield all we can do comfortably is contain

I don't care about the individual form of any one player. It's the team that counts and collectively we are ****e. DG is actually a half-decent footballer IMHO, but Messi would look ordinary in our front 2 ATM.

Like it did in the Bradford game you mean????

I'd back Graham over Fletcher at the moment personally. More drive, more hunger - he cares more about playing for the club and wants to prove himself. Fletcher doesn't give a ****

He's been ****e. All huff and puff.

I've heard Stevenage's young league two striker Ben Kennedy is extremely hard working. Should we spend 5m on him and then praise him on 'hard work' when he clearly isn't good enough to stick the ball in the net at this level? Of course not that would be ridiculous. DG is ****e, shows the state we're in and nothing else.

Yes he hesitated but im confident he'd have slotted it home if he hadnt been fouled.

But he SHOULD have slotted it home ages before he was fouled! It should never have been an issue - my point is he didn't and he was 1 v 1 with the keeper and around 8 yards out and he didn't finish it and only he knows why
