We've already seen quite a bit of activity in and out on the transfer front thus far... with the promise of more to come.
I'm personally very happy with the signing of De Jong and Colback and to be honest I'm a lot more upbeat about our chances for next season that I was at the end of last season.
It may be the break from PL football... the weather..... who knows....
In general though the dark clouds whilst some are still present for me.... are starting to lift a bit.... I hope the feeling continues....
How are you feeling compared to the end of last season?

I'm more optimistic ACS - But I won't skew the vote by putting my Sunderland spin on it mate! :)

No change at all - will depend on who we sign for optimism to increase!

It's not changed anything for me. We need at least two more players in before I'll be confident

I think we're both glad to see the back of last season for differing reasons.
Looking forward to the derbies and the banter again next year though.. big time.

    I'm more.
Honestly didn't think we would sign someone of SDJ's calibre.

Siem is obviously filling the creative void we desperately had to look at so I'm okay with that, whther he's any good here is a worry. Also the fact we are just moving sideways constantly is distressing. Another striker is a must but even then that's papering over the cracks, we need another two. Tentative at the moment.

We still have Pardew as manager so no change at all for me.

    No change.

We've signed Siem as he was the cheaper option when compared with players like Grenier. Hopefully he will prove to be good but there should be caution in that he has come off the back of an injury ravaged and underwhelming campaign.

The only point at which I will be able to say whether I am more or less optimistic for next season will be at the end of the transfer window. Who we end up signing for our striker reinforcements and whether we get Cabella will be of particular interest.

More. I can't see how it can be anything else as Shola has left and we have signed three players. That is a lot more than I would have expected to have happened by this stage. We've done more work than most clubs. I still think we will be massively understaffed come the start of the season but we've already surpassed my low expectations <laugh>

    Well put.
2 years with no permanent signing and we get 3 in a month.

less for me as i expect the better players will be off,the best striker we had has gone, we lost our best player half way through the season, our left back is away, and i suspect 1 or 2 of our better players will be away sissoko /timmy

Less for me, without Remy goals last year we would have gone down.

Yo. What's with the lack of love for the Gouf.

As far as I'm concerned hes our most dangerous attacking player.

On a side note, France screwed up not playing Remy. He could have made a difference yesterday. Such a weird game. It's like they went out with a whimper...which of course is credit to germanys D.

Less. Our only good defender is off. Our only goalscorer is gone. Pardew is still here
