Thanks, I put a lot of effort into that.
I think considering Spurs are not in the CL, and thus will have the added difficulties of signing certain players, they have done well to secure the signings we have. Levy, Baldini and AVB have obviously indicated to these new recruits their aspirations and goals and seems to have convinced them of the direction Spurs are heading. I would have liked to see a LB signed but seriously, we cannot complain too much with the calibre of our seven new signings.

Baldini certainly is a Badman.
Levy a Genius.
AVB is more of a Step-Daddy at the moment.
I say this because I was very sceptical when he was appointed (you'd be cautious of your Mum's new fella), though he has started to impress me (in Daddy terms - he's bought me a lot of McD's) but there are still things that are just not quite up to certain "Standards" I have. If he gets the team to gel as well as I predict they can and finish in 4th or above, then I'll definitely class him as the Daddy! But if we don't, he'll be another useless twat that just shagged my Mum and ****ed off
This is poetry.
It also pretty much sums up where I am at the moment. Although I thought Levy was a genius until the Ozil move, that somehow took a little shine off of the fact that we sold Bale to improve the squad. We also pretty much strengthened Arsenal too.
Whilst I've often agreed with this.....
We actually did influence what Arsenal did, plus the whole reason we have a need to improve is because we are concerned about what other teams do.
The proof will be in the pudding as they say. A draw against Arsenal would have helped, I wasn't expecting a win, and now we have to achieve some serious "hit the grown running" results to stay in top 4 contention.
I'm enthused by a hunch that AVB is actually targeting a title this time around. He'll be aiming for that even if he doesn't say it to the press. He wants to win things.
Hopefully he can whip them into shape as a team.
It's fair to say the team remains in transition, but also fair to note the quality of players keeps improving. While there may not be much difference in the starting 11 compared to the last year or two, we now have far better depth. Our best players keep getting younger, meaning they are likelier to increase than decrease in value. While we may not have improved our fortunes the last three years (largely because the other top teams have also improved while remaining more stable), we've become loaded with some of the most talented young players in the world, and likely to be able to continue to improve the squad thanks to the good business of Levy and Baldini.
If this were a weather forecast, I'd say glorious days likely in the longer term, but tomorrow highly uncertain.
Whatever his foibles, and they include a penchant for bizarre subbing and non-subbing, and the odd inexplicable lineup, AVB last year was good at squeezing points out of strong but slightly incoherent lineups. It can be hoped that with the depth issues seemingly solved, he can do better this year, despite Bale's absence. We'll certainly have to figure out a way to score goals.

But I'm amazed no one has ****ed you over with a "your mum" joke!
I'm trying to wait til January to come to conclusions still. But I can't help being, well, unhappy basically.
I really am getting the feeling that, like with Jol, Levy has thrown away a good position so he can have a snazzy-looking new manager and a DOF (though I realise the DOF was already in place when Jol was cast aside). And, like with Ramos, I can't see it turning out well. It's been 15 months now and it's been poor. ****ty football, expensive flops, all our best players sold and a less talent in the squad now than at any point in the last five years or so.
So no - not happy.
(I desperately hope I can look back on this comment in a few months and wonder at how negative I was way back in October but I just have no reason to think that'll happen - I just can't see it).
