Transfer deadline day is here, are you happy in general with who we have brought in ? Our two biggest signings have yet to play in the league for us, so with that in mind and with all the players we have been linked with, are they a good deal for us ?

And as extension to the above what about laudrup ? I know I'm happy with him as I bet most of us are, but do you have any concerns about him ?

The 'feel' of the team is completely different to the one which got us promoted but things move on in football, so to have so many quality new players and have a 100% record so far, I'm more than happy. Ecstatic actually!

After all those Laudrup quitting rumours and unrest among the squad rumours, Michael Laudrup looks like he's the biz and he looks like he's enjoying himself too.

Depends on what happens by 11.00pm. At the moment, yes very happy. If something goes tits up with the Hernandez deal then not so much. Looks like a Dutch club has just put in a counter-bid for Cabral, but I'm less concerned about that one.

Looks like Laudrup has a plan, is getting the full backing of the Board and is making quality signings on a limited budget.

My only concern - and this might change - is that we haven't yet shipped enough out to lighten the wage bill.

Yes, we do need to ship out and pretty quickly. My other concern is the domestic/foreign player ratio. To be honest I'm losing track with all the comings and goings. Anybody know how we stand here?

Apart from that, I'm very happy. Laudrup's signings seem to be spot on football-wise and no one can complain about the brilliant deals we have done in terms of fees etc. True, the DNA of the team is changing rapidly and it will be a big ask to maintain our fabulous start whilst everybody is getting used to each other's game. When they do gel, however, I can see us kicking on to become something of a force in this league. I think we might well have a few hiccups along the way before that happens, though. Let's hope they will be minimal.

I've been saying this for a while, Ivor. We can only assume that those in charge know what they can and can't do, but we must be getting close. Isn't it 8 out of 25 that need to be Brits?

I think it is 8 and we have 12 approx I think. I'm guessing this rule is why Orlandi and Bessone have been shipped out and Gower and Tate appear to be staying.

more happy with who we have kept; Dyer, Taylor, Vorm, Williams.......thought there would have been some buzzards circling to snap up these guys....keeps the backbone/backline of the team intact with the exception of corkers boy which we could do nothing about being a loan. Defencive stability is most critical imo.

A good possibility why we rejected a bit by Blackburn for the services of Luke Moore ( domestic players issue )

Did we? Wasn't aware of that one. Strange player, Moore. Talented lad but always gives the impression he's in third gear. If he had some good sports psychology he'd be twice the player imo as the problem seems to be in his head. Could well be a defining season for him.

I'm so happy I could sh#t ... but if there is one thing that concerns me is in our push to score goals , we may start leaking them . Neither of our first 2 games should have been clean sheets IMO , and luck doesn't last forever

Luke Moore is a bit of an enigma as far as I'm concerned.
Extremely talented, but a bit too laid back, perhaps not taking himself and his chosen profession too seriously.
He was almost aplogetic when he scored the only goal against Man. City, showing little delight/emotion,whereas others would have been whooping for joy and running down to Wind Street.
He comes across to me as a shy, reticent type, and whilst there's nothing wrong with those traits, perhaps fans' see him as a bit aloof and indifferent.
    That's a pity,I like him a lot,but I think I'm in the minority.

Yes, very happy. I think we would all have be happy with half of what we've got. It's all come together almost perfectly.

I was happy until I had a nightmare last night. For some reason I woke up and all I could see was Swansea 1 Liverpool 4. I really hope this is not a premonition.

I'm in exactly the same boat. That's why I've started the other thread on who has come in and gone out. I'm amending the first post when people point out the things I've forgotten and new things that have happened.
Hopefully it'll end up being a guide to who we actually have to work with and who slipped out of the door while we weren't looking.
