I sure am, I really still believe this guy has a lot to offer, he had a great season in Italy, the only reason no-one signed him up is the Italian league is struggling for cash recently.

I think he's very composed, great passer, can give that killer ball.

And under Kenny, surely can only improve. Like a new signing if you ask me.:emoticon-0116-evilg

Most fans are happy if he comes back and happy if we get a good transfer fee for him, so win win.

I don't think we've seen the best of Aquilani, yet I think we may have seen the best of Meireles, he had 2 good months, but if you look at the season as a whole, he would pass underneath the radar.

Either way I happy enough with either of them.

I welcome him back definetly, he has some creativity in midfield - but I'm now more wary than ever that we have too many Central mids. I would have preferred that we'd sold him and Meireles and got a ~30m rated AM in.

    I'm definitely welcoming him back.

Towards the end of his last season, when he was actually starting games, he was very good. He has technical ability, and whilst he's no Lucas, he does try to get stuck in. But mainly his technical ability and link up play will flourish when he plays with a rejuvenated, talented squad (with other intelligent players - Gerrard, Suarez, Mata?, Kuyt) under a more attacking manager.

He's had a pretty good year away in Italy, and should come back fresher and injury free. He's a £20M player at the end of the day, he has the ability to show it.

If he forgets that he didn't want to be here (if that was him talking and not agent/media) and focusses on doing his best I'd certainly welcome him back. We've got plenty of graft, some more guile to go with it can only be good.

There is a plus point to getting him back,If he has a good season under Kenny and still wants to go,we can get a decent fee for him and make a return on the €17 million that we paid Roma. They never got £20 million, and are as likely to as Liverpool are of getting the £3 million of add-ons off Spurs for Robbie Keane.Liverpool got £16 million and were due to get £3 million but are unlikely to.If Henderson flops,Sunderland are out of pocket to the tune of £4 million.

    Agree there mate
In the past there have been players that have stated that they want to leave their club and given the club possibly their best season Alonso for example

I have put on other threads that if he does not want to play for us then he should do one
But i would like to see the fee we paid for him return to us
So yes bring him back tell him to give it his all next season and then sell him

Kenny has already stated he does not understand why people forget that he is our player still ( way back in the season when he took over). I think he rates him and if he is willing to play for the team he will stay. Good player, creative, good passer and pops up with the goal here and there. Keep him.

Kenny will gve him a chance to prove his worth, irrespective of what the papers write. Kenny's building a squad who have the desire and passion to wear the shirt. Alberto and more will need to prove they want to be at the club.

Aquaman going out on loan was the point that Woy lost me, I think it was the single biggest stupid mistake the lame old duffer made, send him out on loan and brining in dross instead.

Welcome back Alberto, and I hope you've brought your missus with you!:emoticon-0152-heart

Very happy, he is a very good player, hasnt been given the chance so far. I think he's considerably better than Merielles who I also rate.

Chuck in the deep end Kenny!

    Nice pics too
