I kind of like Spurs. You're not my 2nd team or anything, but I've enjoyed watching your team play at times. You've got some fantastic, world class players.

I'm kind of worried for you though.

Modric to me looks quite likely to leave Spurs, and if Bale is offered the chance to go to City for 200k a week, or Real Madrid or Barcelona, would be turn it down?

I personally think if you lose Harry then your players could start leaving.

Your future could depend on whether or not you keep Modric and Bale.

I had great expectations of you, and I reckon you'll be in the top 6 at least for the next year or two, but I fear you may start to fade away.

I hope I'm wrong in a way. I'd of course love to over take you in the league as I want my team to finish as high in the table as possible, but I respect you more than any other team in the top 6.

I really don't get the "If Harry goes, X, Y & Z will go" logic - if we're quick to replace him with a top manager (for the sake of argument, Carlo Ancelotti) they would stay, or if we follow through and bring in Txiki Begiristain as a DoF to serve as a statement of intent.

However, we do need to act quickly and decisively - not fanny about. We need it sorted ahead of the Euros, not after.

Tottenham broke the top four monopoly Without spending ridiculous amounts, Bale and Modric only cost around ₤24'000'000 together, which is why I like Spurs. But assuming Harry took the England job and Modric replaces (the greatest central midfielder in Prem history) for United then Spurs would be in great position to replace both with astute choices. They are an established top 4/5 team and an accomplished manager would love to build on that so I don't see trouble ahead for them. On the subject of Bale, I see him staying for a couple more seasons.

With hindsight he should have gone straight away, better for us, better for the National team. I'd rather have seen this spell under a new man and put it down to that, to see us playing some of our worst football in just a few too many games, in a season with the best I've seen is painful to watch.

We are a nearly team, pretty much established as a top 6 side, which is not bad in one of the toughest leagues in the world. We have a very astute chairman in fact it is not difficult to make the case that he is the best chairman in the league. Levy going would have a much more damaging affect than losing the manager and that does not appear to be on the cards at the moment.

When we lost Carrick we thought oh no that's us. Then we lost Berbatov and thought oh no! but in each case we went on to better things. We have not lost Modric and Bale yet but if we were to, I am pretty confident there would be a couple more to fill their boots. There always has been.

A new stadium is on the horizon which will keep us up there or there abouts. Whether we can push on to win something is another question but apart from that we will be nearly there for some time yet. We nearly always have been.

  6. Arsenal has shown, to my utter surprise, that you can lose a number of so-called key players without destroying the club. If Moddy goes, it'll cost the buyer big time, because there are two or three big clubs who want him; and we would definitely use the money to buy two or three more players.

We might not pay the best wages in the EPL, but we pay decent wages, and we are a club that has been competing strongly for CL places for a good few seasons, now. Plus, with the new stadium project about to commence, it is more likely than not that we will become more competitive, not less.

All-in-all, there is every reason to be optimistic about our future, and I certainly am. In fact, I'm looking forward to there being some change at our club, as I believe that we can be improved even further. If this is all we can expect under Redknap, it's not enough for me.

As regards Moddy, I'm really not that bothered if he leaves or stays. If he does go, I will wish him luck and thank him for what he's done for us, as it would be churlish to be too upset if we are getting upwards of £50 million for him. With the right striker in place, scoring us 30+ goals a season, and with THudd to come back, and the likes of Livermore, Rose and Sandro looking to forge a permanent place in the squad, we don't exactly need to rush to replace Moddy. I'd say that replacing King and Gallas with two top CBs is more of a priority for us (assuming that Caulker is going to replace Bassong).

Was there a mass exodus at Chelsea when Mourinho left? No, although players clearly molded in his image like Terry, Lampard and Drogba spent more time texting him than listening to Villas-Boas this season, and are now running the roost whilst everyone pretends Di Matteo is in charge.

Take it you`ve been listening to Talk5hite, this is all they ever talk about.... Spurs will struggle to hold onto their best players.... Modric wants out.... Bales wants to join Barca.. blah blah blah. I really dont take notice of anything they broadcast (if I have to misfortune to have to listen), I`ll leave them to their Liverpool love-in.

The only players I will be devastated to lose are Bale, VDV and Sandro (and maybe Walker). The rest of our best players (including Modric) I wouldnt be devastated either way, Modric in particular has been below his own high standards for large parts of this season.

Carrick went, we got Berbatov, Berba went, we got Modric and Bale. We buy reasonably and sell at a profit and we always trade up (at least our marquee signings.) We have done this without CL football for the most part and with a tight budget and small ground. Levy will keep us in the hunt, until the new ground is up and running and then we are ready to take on the bigboys.

As for Harry, with hindsight, he should have gone straight from Southwark Crown Court to Soho Square....

At this point Modric, Ade and 'Arry are the only ones that you can say might be leaving. There's been nothing from anyone else to suggest they'll be leaving and I don't think anyone other than City or Madrid can realistically afford Bale, I'm not sure City would tempt Bale too much either.

VDV has confirmed he's staying and I think over the next month or so we'll see more of the squad committing to the club for the forseable future. If we get CL football all the noises from the club are indicating that we'll be spending £20mill or so before player sales to strengthen our side so there's definitely positives for us to aim for.

Especially as Bale is still young, he has more to develop, Barca and Real don't develop as such they would throw him in there and expect him to be on par with the best right off the bat, it's best for Bale to stick with Spurs before signing for one of them. Modric on the other hand, if you can get 45m then you will be laughing.

Arsenal have more to worry about - they're running out of first teamers due to the "tactics" deployed by the Chavlings...
