Hull City interested in wingers Gareth McCleary (Reading) & Moses Odubajo (Orient) but Robert Snodgrass remains their primary target. #hcafc

    What's people's thoughts?
Snodgrass i can understand, but I know nothing about the two lower league lads.

Cant see us buying any players from the lower leagues unless they've got premier league experience or are an exceptional talent. Its too much of a risk for a club like ours to possibly waste money like that.

I am actually a bit deflated from all the rumours over the past few months, nothing really has excited me other than the Ghana winger Ayew. Snodgrass would be ok too but would rather see the money spent elsewhere.. Id like to see a Huddlestone type signing, a player that we couldnt possibly imagine signing for us, signs for us. Bruce is capable of that and im just hoping he can do it again this window.

Odubaju is mean to be a very talented lad.

If Bruce thinks they're good enough, they're good enough.

If they'd got their arses in gear sooner we could have done it super cheap!

    Colback was free
    Albrighton was free
    Pantillimon was free

All three could have been good additions to the squad.

Just because they are free, doesn't mean they would have signed for us.

Colback - Was never going anywhere else other than Newcastle (Club he supported as a kid)
Albrighton - Don't rate him anyway.
Pantillimon - Keeper - We don't need another.

I think people have to bear in mind the large January outlay when considering how much we'll spend this summer.

Mcleary is a good winger with an eye for goal the lad from orient would concern me as there talking big money for him , no need to panic nobody has done much transfer wise the World Cup will slow things down .

We've all seen McCleary play against us for Forest, handy player. Not a clue about the orient lad. I'd sooner take either of them ahead of snodgrass and his pathetic moustache.

I have faith in SB to make the necessary signings, he seems to be working quietly to get the targets he wants.

Me and some friends were talking during Orient's play-off game and we singled Moses Odubajo out as worth a punt.

He looked fast, direct and strong. Only 20 as well, so wouldn't have to be counted as part of the squad numbers.

Just because theyr'e on a a free doesn't make them cheap. Signing on fees means they have bigger signing on fees and bigger wages

As others have said, I don't think these players are bad targets. McCleary has looked good for the last few years at Forest and Reading. I haven't seen Odubajo but we don't sign enough young players so I'm happy if we get him.

It looks like we're trying to fill out the squad a bit and get more young English players in, rather than going for one or two major signings.

Odubajo is a decent player but extremely raw. When I've seen Orient (a few times this season), he hasn't struck me as premier league standard so I personally wouldn't move for him, especially if it's fairly big money. I'd prefer Snodgrass out of the three but I'm sure Bruce will make the right decision.

Don't always take notice of paper talk, don't get to carried away with it all, yes some may be right others will be rubbish but we will properly have a list of around thirty players on it of them we may bring in 4 or 5. Lets also not forget that if we bring in a player for around 4 million then with wages it could end up been around 7 or 8 million. also SB as already said we will bring in players from the lower leagues to supplement the European squad so lets not forget if he wants a few players for strengthening the premier team and extra for Europe then you still have to sick to a budget otherwise if things don't go right you could have big problems.

    Just siting realistic freebies.

I think regarding Pantillimon though; he's better than both Harper and Jakupovic. I didn't feel confident watching either of those pair last season when McG was crocked.

Think we have to realise that Brucey might be after strength in depth rather than those that will come into our first team. We saw what our thin squad did at the tail end of last season and now we have europe to contend with. I'd be happy with a bunch of pretty good signing than 1 great one. (even though lescott is a great result if it comes off)

Hardly doing it on the cheap. If they are good enough then why not ? Boyd came for Peterboro as an example and McCleary is a good player with PL experience. But i would suggest that IF they are on SB wish list they wont be near the top of it.

Odubajo is not a bad choice at the right price.

None of them would have improved us imo plus Colback wanted to go only to Newcastle his boyhood club.

    Agreed John ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ this.

Nothing is happening much anywhere really in the PL atm.
