My Kids would always ask that on our car rides.. Now i am asking the supporters of Argyle.."Are we (safe) there yet?
Just got back from the match and I am fuming. The referee should have put on their shirt he was so biased. One of our players would run past theirs not touching them in any shape or form or the wind blew them and they would go down like a pansie and the ref would give them a free kick .... I've seen some bad refs in my time but this one took the biscuit. To make matters worse Rotherham got promoted so what did about 7 of their players do !!!!!!!!!!!! came down to the Devonport End smiling not once but twice .... they might have done it more times but I was dragged away by my friends so if there is any trouble I hope the FA throw the book at them ..... Evans is a weird man as fat as he is tall .... sorry this isn't very coherent but I'm so bloody angry still Forgot to say the team played well and we should never have lost ..... Rotherham were aided and abetted by the ref !
Right, lets try to be objective. The result was a travesty. Not saying we should have won the match but we should definately not have lost it. Agree with Gat reference Referee. He was absolutely pathetic. Enough said about him. Evans is, well Evans. He moans and moans and moans. When he has finished moaning he moans some more. He is without doubt the most odious excuse for a human being I have ever come across in football. If there was ever a person I would just love to punch it is him. Sadly his players take their cue from him. The Referee, if he had any balls at all would have not only booked but sent off at least one of theirs. No way should a Ref put up with verbals like that. He unfortunately didn't have any balls. Argyle were by far and away the better side for the whole 90 minutes. The problem was we just didn't put the ball away despite the chances we had. Cole hardly had a save to make but you just knew they would stick one in. It was that kind of game. I cannot fault the players who gave it everything against a side who were 9 foot tall and ver physical unless it was a tackle made on them and they suddenly became feathers. One thing to add or rather two. First one is that York play Daggers on the last day. Both cannot win and both are below Argyle. The worst result would be a draw but then Argyle would have to lose by more than 3. Unless the football Gods are totally against us then I cannot see it happening. The second is that I stood outside the ground after the game waiting for my mates to come out. They were watching the presentations. I had to endure several hundred Rotherham fans walking past me and they were obviously a tad happy at the result. At least half a dozen different ones stopped and spoke to me. Comments were ranging from "you are far too good to go down" and "we got a lucky result today" and to a man they all said that they hoped we would be safe despite the result. No matter what I think of their players and manager, I have to say what a decent bunch they seemed. Not one ounce of bragging at all even if they had something to brag about. But, I'm a bit gutted we didn't get a result today because we deserved something out of it. Bhasera was player of the season and in my view probably deserved it although, a bit surprising from me, Cole must have been a very close second.
i thought the ref had a decent game first half but was rubbish in the second. Agree with GAT that if that if the Rotheram's players antics after the final -the so called 'warm down'- wasn't inciting the fans then nothing is- you would have thought they might have got the message from the boos. Just bought tickets for Rochdale even though we should be okay. Have just worked out that any result at D&G v York other than a draw would see us safe (regardless of what we do) as would Barnet or Wimbledon failing to better our result. So it would take a fairly odd set of results to see us relegated. But then again i said the same before kickoff today and look what happened.
sorry sensible we were both obviously typing at the same time, concur with yr all yr comments and my man of the season was also j cole, but don't mind that Baz won it.
I would love to go to Rochdale BC but sadly I can't afford it so like you I shall be glued to the radio hopefully not suffering for 90 mins
